Just under 90 miles a day on SW Wa rural roads. 5000 miles since Mid July with an average of 3.7 miles/KWh. Tires at 45 psi.
  1. 1/2 the route cruise at 53-58 mph.
  2. Nearly 1/2 the route is 50 mph or less.
  3. Prevailing winds (NW or SW) averages out hi and low M/KWh.
  4. Ride better than any prior solid axle Mustang (I’ve owned 4). However, my Flex is superior. A little bouncy on one janky road section. I’ve noticed passengers helps. Slightly better ride than the Edge Sport we traded off.
  5. M/KWh varies from 3.1 to 4.1 but 5000 mile average still 3.7
  6. Fan at 1 and E-heat say 30 degrees above outside can raise climate use 10%+ And 10% duty cycling fan on and off keeps windows clear. My read is that there’s power to save with better heat/defrost mgmt.
  7. Love having nearly noiseless wipers
  8. Interface w/PAAK is often unexplainable but buttons on phone app never failed me whereas the car waking up passively to PAAK is unpredictable. Turns out that when the MME goes into deep sleep that.. waking up is hard to do with PAAK unless your patient.
  9. The trunk unlock button on the phone app appears bullet proof.
  10. Departure set to “warm” is fab in fall-winter.
  11. Strangest Experience- Intuitive-Cruise Accelerating to 5 mph over speed limit after reading a 50 mph zone sign on a curve. I was clueless, then read up on it “Oh”.
  12. Most annoying- In “normal cruise”- deceleration into and then acceleration out of corners can vary speed by up to high signal digits. Another possible energy hog.
  13. 2nd most annoying- I swear the MME has stealth mode.. I walk up, no button light on, no parking lights flash, push the button, door opens. Maybe waking up from deep sleep?
  14. Most surprising- Serenely quiet.
  15. Amazed at the power draw of e-heat and fan on “1”. For our mild weather plus foggy window potential, the fan needs to cycle on and off automatically instead me turning it on for a minute every 5 minutes down the road.
  16. I used to commute in a ST Adrenalin then twin turbo EcoBoost Flex. I think the Flex would catch the MME on the top end above 80 mph because they weigh nearly the same and well, 100 more HP in the Flex. But the MME is a fab commuter. Waiting for winter ice. I do wish the Flex had the MME GT drive train!
  17. All my muscle car gear head friends love it, like the looks, instant torque, inexpensive fuel. And they all say “it’s the future”.
  18. Charged on a 30 amp dryer breaker before swapping in a 40 amp breaker. The supplied charger pulls up to 32 amp. So there’s that. If we end up with a Lightning I’m going to probably have to put it on the unused 60 amp breaker and re-wire with heavier gauge.
  19. Finally.. our power is .0634/KWh. I went from $320/month in gas to about $30 in electricity. Duh.
  20. One added bonus.. at 85% charge it typically has 199 miles of range.

I had an EB Flex and it was an amazing vehicle. Was sad to trade it in for a EB F-150. Should have (my wife’s) GT in the next two weeks. Will be interesting comparing the GT to the Flex. We haven’t owned many crossovers.

How is reliability? 100%?
so far..I’ve used PAAK exclusively. Locked the phone in the car twice. Once, at home. Locked me out. Grabbed the FOB. 2nd time at home, didn’t lock me out.

No real issues, more learning glitches. A trunk button would be nice.

But nothing has failed, caused me to go back to dealer. Everything works.

I’m probably running tire pressure a bit high. I’ll lower soon to 38.

A bit worried about ice. Hard narrow tires, weight. Curious how traction control deals with ice. Our cool-cold-humid nights can ice roads up quick before sunrise.

When 30 amp breaker tripped, charge ring glowed orange until I pulled charger. Switched that to 40 amp.
But no software errors or failures.
BEVs do promise less service…

Also,

What most bothers me is driving over tree limbs, etc and the rougher roads wiggling things loose. And flats. I’ve averaged about 1 every other year. Not looking forward to fix-a-flat system provided…

great report. have you played around with departure warm/cold to see if it makes any impact to consumption?

Yes, I’d roughly say that in our mild climate (mornings at mid 40’s) it can lower cabin use on climate from 10% to around 5% however, there’s no way to actually dial that in controls, you have to physically manipulate them.

After you shut the vehicle down and before you open the door hit the car icon on sync. The screen will go right to accessibility screen. Hit the trunk button. 2 taps is all it take to open the trunk. 2 taps is not a huge deal for me.

Yes, I eventually figured that out. In retrospect I’d assumed that when the door is unlocked, the trunk could be outside button-opened. But Driver Door unlock only means exactly that. Probably a good security measure. However a trunk icon atop the main screen seems warranted rather than vehicle-access-trunk.

I can see how icon based selection dominates the GUI. However, commonly held actions (ie trunk) would seem to warrant their own direct screen access in the hierarchy of things.

Uh, is your wire sized to handle the 40amp circuit breaker? Just swapping out the 30A with a 40A breaker is a potentially unsafe move. Wouldn't want you to burn your house down or post an unsafe solution here that might result in someone else burning theirs down.

Yes, first thing I checked. Then discovered the un-used 60 AMP breaker was wired to the SPA (now gone) with 8 gauge. Yikes. I’m now thinking of using that circuit for the Lightning with upgrade to 4 AWG.

Vehicle-trunk (no access) are the 2 taps as it keeps your tunes up until you open the door also. Really quick and works for me.

Intelligent cruise would work better for me setting it as a % and not delta mph. How I drive on a highway differs from how I drive thru a town or a school zone. A sliding scale such as % would work better for me. As such I just do not use it.

We are at the same mileage but for me since Feb. 2nd. I think it is one of the best vehicles I have owned. Something new and fun to drive; thoroughly enjoying it.

Since I’m in the car nearly an hour a day and have but 2-3 stops each way and long no stop stretches, on modest hilly-winding roads.. I gave up using my foot long ago. Normal cruise works best for me and one-pedal offers no advantage. I’m not yet sold on accident avoidance until it out-dodges a deer or elk which I’ve done successfully several times because I saw them in time to take evasive maneuvers (think Swedish Moose avoidance).

but as you noted.. one of the best if not best cars I’ve ever owned. The entire package works for me and for my S.O. and I.. very well. And if this is the beginning of the BEV revolution, I can’t imagine what’s to come but it’ll be even better.

High 90% 2 way highway thru the Canadian shield and use one step more with adaptive cruise set on; it cancels also to pass. I like the adaptive feature. Like 1PD and not moving the foot. It is fun and new.

Not sure about accident avoidance yet either but have it on warn or the lowest I could go. Seen 2 duh cases and that is it so far. Twice when someone was on a side road on the on coming side and was inching out to pull out left behind me after I went by; it screamed a red box after I went by (ya been watching them for awhile). The second time was just recently I was inching out of a parking spot that backs right onto a busy road. I was inching back so I could see past the parked car beside me; it slammed on the brakes before I could see. Guess the backend saw it before me? I know that parking lot but I guess that worked. Both first times it is kind of wth ..... that is new.

Don't look at the deer that just crossed look for the next one coming ;). One slide its chest into my 4x4 sticker on the side of a pickup box. Poor doe with those big brown eyes in the sideview. No damage all around but they are out there. See a moose just slow down (stop!) they are erratic as heck here. They will run along the side and then just dart out at any time. At 2000# you should avoid running into them if you can.

I am thinking we may be bolting up some solid states any day now ;).
