Has Ford published a commitment that they are definitely going to reduce the buffer on all existing Mustang Mach Es? I don’t recall seeing any commitment. I think I recall seeing a vaguely worded statement that they were looking at the possibility of doing it on an individual basis, at least partly predicated on how the owner was maintaining the battery (the implication being that if the owner was being “rough” on the battery, buffer wouldn’t be released.) I do recall them saying that they wanted to be conservative with their battery strategy so that they could meet 8 year warranty targets (which is reasonable). Not only can they, they are planning to. That’s what I said above.
