Has Ford published a commitment that they are definitely going to reduce the buffer on all existing Mustang Mach Es? I don’t recall seeing any commitment. I think I recall seeing a vaguely worded statement that they were looking at the possibility of doing it on an individual basis, at least partly predicated on how the owner was maintaining the battery (the implication being that if the owner was being “rough” on the battery, buffer wouldn’t be released.) I do recall them saying that they wanted to be conservative with their battery strategy so that they could meet 8 year warranty targets (which is reasonable).

Ford has failed big time with meaningful OTA updates. Hopefully that will change soon.

OMG 1 hour, 39 minutes?! Forget it. I’ll take your word for it and just check my system update daily for that buffer increase update. I’m sure it’s coming just as soon as they get BlueCruise out the door ?

I am in the process of buying an electric car and although I have 2 possible candidates I have a question about the mustang mach-e that I hope someone can solve.
I would like to know if the mustang has full OTA updates where you update things in depth of the car (battery, engine etc..). And not only the part of infotainment and navigation.

Do not buy the Mustang. Ford’s customer service is horrbile. Bought mine early and I have not received a single update. Meanwhile everyone after is getting updates all the time. They keep telling me there is none available, even though they know it is four updates behind. I have had the worst experience ever buying this car from the dealership all the way through. Should have bought a Tesla.

Yes. Nearly every module can be updated over the air (mobile and/or WiFi). (See this list for details.)

This is one of Ford's first vehicles with this depth of updateability. So far, Ford has been conservative/slow with the updates, but we've received about 5 so far on our 2021 Mustang Mach-Es since March of this year.

I have received Zero and they will not do anything to help. Four months and not a single update. Did a tech call to go through features with ford and I couldn’t do anything he was telling me cause I didn’t have the update. Ford Customer service is horrible

What features are you missing from these updates?

When was your car produced? If it is newer, for example a "Job 2" vehicle, then the updates intended for Job 1 vehicles aren't applicable.

Several features. Such as notes, Alexa, hitting the volume button to produce the calm screen, how to navigate back and forth through menus, the frunk button,
