It looks like the battery is on production hold currently. I see lot's of dealers out there with a few though. Ask them if you could emergency the part or if they could reach out to another dealer. You might have to pay shipping costs though.

Question- does the Tesla have the same battery issues? Because if it doesn’t is this a Ford problem in general
Confirming it's not just a Ford problem.

I was hoping Tesla would eliminate the 12V in the Model Y. Nope. And even the new Refreshed Model S (Long Range or Plaid) has a 12V, albeit a Lithium one that's supposed to be more durable.

I chose to replace the 12V @ 24 months in my 2018 Model 3 because of others having theirs fail after as short as 18 months, leaving the car undrivable.

Once my 2020 Model Y is 2 years old I'll do the same for it. I'll replace the one in my 2018 next year as well.

And as highlighted in the link posted earlier, I set my charge limit to no higher than 90% to avoid the 12V from not getting topped off as well as avoid battery degradation since Tesla doesn't hold back part of the pack.

In a Tesla, you should only charge it to 100% when you're going on a roadtrip, not daily.

Ford copied the model Y too closely, including the 12V battery issues.

The EV battery does charge the 12v battery up, but only while your driving.
Why do people keep saying that? I guess they’ve never seen the message in FordPass that pops up when the 12v battery is being charged while parked?

You know all too well why. I can quickly come up with a list of 20 things (myths) that people talk about on this forum and preach as gospel. From pushing the charge port unlock button to stop L2 charging, to 12v battery charging to claiming shifting into park is necessary before power off.

I was going to make a "Myths Debunked" post, but figured in 1 day it would be lost in the sea of other posts and never do any good so I just punted.

Also, there's a ton of posts here about how he could be affected by the battery issues that plagued many early builds. The OP said he has a GT ... there is no known issue for GTs or newer builds. The likelihood is either a bad battery or something wrong with this vehicle specifically.

I get all sorts of notes from FordPass about the charger starting, stopping, but never anything about the 12v batter being charged, much less while parked.

Perhaps this boils down to Ford not updating my vehicle?

Perhaps it's a myth for new vehicles, but nothing I seen from Ford says it's not valid for older Mach Es, and they did at one point say it was an issue.

I honestly don't think I'd take this vehicle. I'd be too worried about possibly being stranded everytine I shut off the car. I'd try my damndest to get the dealership AND Ford to make ammends, outside of having to wait for another vehicle.. Sorry you're going through this.

It's not a notification. It's a toast that appears at the top.

Was your car built before Feb 3rd? Does your 12V battery die while L2 charging? If so, get it updated.
So far I haven't had any battery issues, partly from knowing what not to do on these forums. My build date appears to be 4/28/21. (That's based on window sticker, so it might be a week or so later).

I likely would not have the issue with darning the battery while plugged into L2, but probably not the fix for leaving it turned off for too long.

I also wonder why people think there is something unique about 12V batteries in EVs. Ever since I moved to Phoenix, I've had to replace the 12V battery every 3 years, almost like clockwork, in every car. The only annoying things are how difficult it is to get to the battery to jump it and the fact that the batteries are odd size, so it's not carried by AAA.
