BTW, didn't you have a reservation number way up in the 58,000 range?
Yes. 58161
Then became W001 which I presume meant I was the first to convert at that dealership. Then they gave me a different number of 8547

Will now get yet another number most likely...

So . . . Today my dealer sales Manager called me (I had been bugging him too) and said his regional salesperson could do a FE for me! I am a bit nervous as they cancelled my Premium and I got that cancellation email, but he sent me a copy of the order with my name and order number and I am needless to say cautiously optimistic and jacked up!!!? Hoping to see the order on my owner profile tomorrow!!
Congratulations!
I was hoping others here received a similar call. You were hoping to get the opportunity for an FE so I am happy for you.

Mine went from 10004247 to 0645 on the order sheet he sent me. Still not on my owner page yet though. Just the cancelled one. :(

I'm assuming it helped that your kept in contact with your dealer, maybe I should start bugging mine, but then again it's all cosmetic... I don't know.... Too much on the fence it seems!

I think this pretty much confirms my original theory that Ford is planning to build a certain number of First Editions no matter what.

I'm trying to remember... The FE is a Premium AWD ER with a few cosmetic upgrades, right? But it's $59,900? While the Premium AWD ER is $57,700? What do you get for the extra $2200 other than painted calipers and interior stitching?

Just asking on the 0.00001% chance my dealer calls for offers it too.

Yep. The FE is basically an appearance package on the Premium x4. I had $1600 in my head as the up charge. I will have to double check my figures though.

For that extra charge you get.....
Wheel moldings painted to match the body, door sill plates to read First Edition, painted brake calipers, colored stitching on the interior and aluminum pedal covers.

Oh yeah, and apparently a pass to the front of the line to take delivery. :)

The color matched wheel moldings is appealing to me. I don't really like the black wheel moldings but I was just going to get over it once the car arrived. I spend most of my time behind the wheel anyway so maybe the colored stitching will be cool.

I had a 2005 GTO. Loved that car. It had 400 hp, a 6 speed, dual exhaust, alum racing pedals and red stitching on black leather interior. Maybe the MME FE will bring back some of those memorable driving experiences......with a lot less guilt. :)

It's all cosmetic. Calipers, stitching, First Edition entry plates, and chrome pedals. Oh, and exclusive color in Grabber Blue unless GT. Most (best) of all... 2020 delivery!

I just think there weren't as many conversations from reservations to orders as they expected. Not sure how many, but worth the call to your dealership if anyone is interested.

I think it was originally, but they dropped the base price of the Premium from $50,600 to an even $50,000.

For just cosmetics, I wouldn't pay the $2200 extra. Although for me it might work out to only be a net $700 difference. Our state tax credit is $4000 in 2020 and $2500 in 2021. If I take delivery this year I save $1500. That's a little more tempting, but even $700 for just cosmetics is pretty unnecessary.

Oh well, snowball's chance in hell I'd get offered one anyway. I'm guessing it might have been their dealerships that had an FE cancel, which is why they got a call. My dealership only had 2 orders (and it's possible the other may have been for a Bronco instead).

Yeah. Totally understand. Hard to justify the extra expense just for some appearance bits. Also dont need the larger battery....doesnt even make the car quicker, might actually hurt a bit.

Since I own an EV now, I understand how these things actually save money so I am ready for the MME now. Then the FFE goes to my wife and her C-Max Energi goes to my daughter who is getting married this fall.

My dealer said the difference would be an extra $6k over my current order so I said okay. I had a Premium AWD standard range. Then I get the X plan of course...

It is exactly a $1,600 difference from the car I ordered. When I initially placed a reservation I decided not to do it, but then afterward regretted the decision. I know it is just cosmetic, but I really like those changes, and once you are spending $60K anyway, what’s another $1600? I was pretty close to the front of the line on premiums.

My dealer knew I wanted to upgrade from the time I placed my order, so he bugged his regional sales manager. Don’t know that you would get the call if they don’t know you are interested.

Since the FE is built on a Premium....the price drop applies. The difference is $1600 so might as well get it this year for $100 more.
Call your dealer and see if there are any FEs available. Ford is trying to fill those slots. I think my dealer said that Ford wanted to close the book on FE orders today.

Wanting to and being able to are not the same... Originally they wanted to at the end of last month. Personally, I will not complete my order without some sort of test drive and I'm probably not the only one.
