I tried to place an order for a second MME on the Ford website. This is a new ordering process to me, since I placed my first order directly with my dealer. I was trying to avoid going directly through the dealer again since you lose some visibility to your order status.

I went through the entire online order and got to the payment window. I put in my credit card info. After hitting submit, the website just sent me back to the order summary page. No order confirmation. No email. No new orders on my Ford account. I tried it again on a different browser and a third time with a different credit card. Each time my credit card statement showed a pending charge, but was shortly reversed within 24 hours.

I have either three cars on order (probably not) or no cars on order.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Sounds like a bug. Either way the order isn’t confirmed until the dealer contacts you and accepts it. I still had to go in and sign the printed order form.

The dealer doesn’t have to contact you to accept the order, and Ford doesnā€˜t require you to go to the dealer to sign anything.

Ford requires a signed spec sheet from WBDO. You do not technically have to physically go to the dealership though. It can all be done via email.

Unfortunately Ford does not have it set up to where you can go through them. You will have to go through the dealer if you want your order placed. When you place the "order" online you are essentially sending a message to your closest dealership to contact you about ordering one.

I didn't go into or have any communication with my dealer for them to accept my order.

Unless this has changed, the dealer just has to accept the order when it comes to them from Ford's system. They don't have to contact you to place an order (though some seem to want to).

I had a similar problem, but was on the phone with the dealer at the time. He suggested trying a different browser(I was working on a Mac using Safari). I tried Google Chrome and it worked.

I placed my order last week online without having worked with a dealer at all. The first time I submitted my order it was denied but that was because my credit card company didn't recognize the transaction. After I confirmed that I was authorizing the transaction it went through the second time.

Are you using a mobile browser. A lot of these company’s websites are not optimized for mobile. I often have to resort to pulling out my ancient laptop.

I've done this on two different PCs (not mobile) with two different browsers. I can see the payment posted to my credit card, but soon reversed. I think this is a Ford website issue.

We have to call due to the sheer number of builds we get. Only about 4 in 10 actually end up ordering.

When I ordered my car, I placed the order and called my dealer to let them know. Within 10 minutes of order being placed it wa accepted by dealer and my card was charged. Not sure if there is something changed since April. ?ā€ā™‚?

I gave up on placing my order through the Ford website, and placed the order over the phone with my dealer. The good news is that they didn't charge me a deposit. I beat the price increase coming in the next few days.
