Yep, the rap (music ?) has me hitting the pause button immediately.
Hopefully, Ford knows the market that is actually purchasing the Mach-E.

Demographic's can be surprising, the 2020 Sturgis -- Harley Rally was just held here in South Dakota with over 350,000 attending. A survey of the average age of the bikers was 57 years old.
That is exactly Harley's current customer base. In fact, one of the reasons Harley is struggling right now is because they are having trouble hitting the younger customer base and those older customers seldom buy new bikes.

I can't imagine this running in the US, seems to miss the market entirely if you ask me...speaking for middle aged men who formerly drove a Mustang Convertible and now drives something more, well, middle aged, but yearning for something practical yet still cool, and let's me get back to my Mustang roots!
Exactly. Plus there's the matter of the $50k-$60k price tag. Not a lot of 20 year-olds affording that. They're likely looking at the regular Mustang for half the price.

I agree that the ad is poised for younger drivers, but the real Mach-E buyers are middle aged adults (both male and female*), between 30 and 55. Add some of the "seniors" who have driven the original Mach-1 (I did) and the next Ford ads should have more of the vehicle itself and less of the "music and light show".

* Here in Puerto Rico, female Mustang driver slightly outnumber the males. My wife was who drove our 1980 Mustang.

The last Ford I owned was a 1973 Ford Pinto. Bought it brand new. It took me that long to recover. ;)

For me it was kind of what? Trying to sell a car thru something completely different that in no way connects to it. Americas it would need to use AC/DC (boy in shorts) and then you gotta have it. Buy the car and it comes with cool kids and AC/DC.

I'm 40 (is that middle-aged?) and I have to say that I don't really have any problems with the ad, personally. While the ad may appeal more to a younger demographic, that is really the market that companies need to get excited about products these days, as they are the ones that are going to end up posting pictures/videos/other content broadly on social media platforms to build excitement about products and really help spread the word about products through that sort of free marketing. The last thing Ford wants to do with this vehicle is push out something like what Lincoln would do with Matthew McConaughey or something like what Buick or Cadillac would do to make sure that they are advertising an electric Mustang, a car that is supposed to be a big flashy and have a bit of fun and exhilaration to it, so that they can appeal to people in their 50s+ who may have more limited social media influence.

I don't know how well it worked, but the MM ads with Lincoln were intended to attract younger buyers.

I didn't find the ads appealing. But at least one friend of mine thought it was very cool. We're both just a few years older than you.

Maybe this will excite some of you.

Thanks for sharing trutolife27! There has been discussion about the target age group for this video. I am in an older age group but found the video engaging and interesting. It would have zero impact on my desire for a Mach-E but I enjoyed the dynamics of the video and felt it was a nice vibe to associate with the car. In advertising, it is not uncommon to frame a product as hip for a certain age group in order to actually appeal to an older audience that wants to believe it is hip again (or for the first time). I was drawn to the Mach-E rather than staying with the Bolt EV primarily because of: AWD, bigger size, more comfortable seats, wireless Apple Car Play, wireless phone charging that should work conveniently, adaptive cruise control, a small range boost, and (drumroll) because it has an integrated garage door opener (believe it or not, the Bolt does not have that feature). Bonus: the Mach-E looks really cool and I loved our 1965 mustang and the others I drove in the 1970s--make me young again Mustang but more responsible (EV) and I am yours! I am sure once people see that I have a Mustang again, they will all agree that I am hip--just like the video. Right?

The market for today's generation of young adults mindset is different. The housing crash, the change in retirement to 401k. The speed of technology has had a great effect on the younger population.

They are wanting smaller houses, or just rent. Have more (toys) boats, cars bikes, vacations. Today's youth are thinking different. each year new phone, new this or new that. The tech world has been turned upside down with the speed of it. Which is a good thing but costly. They want to see more, travel more. Then collect things you cant take with you when pass away.

The term house broke has turned into the turn car broke. The older you get the more you turn into a dave ramsey and less of a, got money burning a hole in your pocket.

Remember the late 60's early 70's muscle car? Young adults spending money on fast cars at a alarming rate. Companies target what is the now and the in. Not us older adults that have to wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom lol.

If they want to appeal to younger buyers they could hit that "green" note for them and their future children (feel good ad that they would be making a difference). Green and speed is Tesla's recipe and the MME has both. I think environment and speed would be a good second ad; after the one noting that if you buy it you become one of the kool kids. If they are thinking of buying a EV why? Why are most of us? For me it is the fact that the MME has voom voom audio sounds. Ford may not be totally on board yet with BEV's or that climate change may not be a hoax. Hope they sell lots of MME's and F150 EV's that push them in that direction; even if not for the world but for the $ as both produce the same result.
