@breeves002 You may have posted this somewhere before, but do you know where the APIM is physically located in the car and is it difficult for the dealer when they have to replace it (i.e.: is there a lot of stuff that has to be "moved" to gain access to it?).
APIM is physically located under the center display, three or panels come off, starting from the driver's side down around to under the center display. It doesn't look too bad, especially for an experienced tech.

@CHeil402 It's behind the center screen inside the dash, but it doesn't seem too bad to get to, all things considered.

My 1.7.1 update finally went through last night. It had been stuck for about 2 weeks. I was playing around with the settings and decided to "schedule" an update time for late last night. I didn't have to do that for the previous update. So I don't know if that's what un-stuck 1.7.1 or not. Or maybe it was just coincidence with something Ford did. My daughter's excited to play tic tac toe in the car.

Congrats. Unfortunately in my ‘stuck’ mode, I am unable to save any scheduled updates. I hit save and nothing happens.

Per Ford, I had the 21B36B PAAK update and the 21P22 Software Calibration updates done at the dealer. Those took about a day.

They also did the windshield and roof recalls. They kept my car for 12 additional days for this.

Just picked up the car after 13 days. The Sync4A update was not done, and I very specifically asked for that update. to be done as well. Tech said it was not on his work order !?!?!?!

Not happy with my dealer, but that is another story for another time.

My question is: Will the new Sync 4A update come OTA, or is it completely on hold, or does it have to be done at the dealership? Quite honestly, if it has to be done at a dealership, I will be looking for another one to do this update.

I can't turn on the OTA updates or schedule a time. The software update just says "Up To Date", and under Sync4A there is no version or revision numbers displayed, so I know the 1.7.1 update has not completed.

Any ideas what I should do? Thanks for any advice....

If I missed this info, I apologize, but I have been in "mourning mode" without my MME for 13 days.....

Jim

I'm in the same boat. Stuck since 11/25. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can do at home besides trying to schedule an update / waiting for an OTA fix?

I don’t think so. I would wait for the OTA fix.

Hey everyone, so since Friday my car has said its on 1.7.1, but I have none of the new features (no frunk button, no Drawing pad, nothing). My vehicle turned automatic updates off and I can't toggle it back on (when I do, as soon as I leave the update screen and come back its toggled off again), I also can no longer set desired update times, they just wont save.

Has anyone else had any issues with the OTA getting seemingly stuck? in total my mdm9650-TCU device has downloaded 5.04 GB of data over the last month and hasn't downloaded anything new since 9/29/21. This is smaller then the update should be so I am not really sure what is going on here.
Mine is doing this issue as well. Has anyone found out a solution to try it. I have taken it to the shop and they have even done the update, when I got the car it said that the update took but then when I shut my car off and turn it back on and went back to the old version I called the one 800-number and they said my car was not up-to-date. Are there any solutions yet?

I'm in the same exact boat as you other than mine only took 5 days to complete. My dealership also sucks. Said they did 24 updates, but installing 1.7.1 wasn't one of them.

What's the 1 800 number to call?

So I wonder how that works when 1.7.1 failed and I can't turn on automatic updates or set an update schedule. This is crazy. After my car was done, I went back and had them put it back on the computer because it wasn't showing my update version on the Sync display. I'm currently waiting in the service lobby.

The tool to fix the issue you're having isn't available yet. They will almost certainly get stuck
