This ain’t Wall Street.

Here’s another saying for you:

Today’s high price will become tomorrow’s deal.

If inflation stays anywhere close to where it is, todays prices (even with ADM) will seem cheap in the future.

Just compare to another industry that has had high inflation and long times from order to delivery for many years: Boats.

And go look on any boat forum for posts from the last DECADE. Every week there are posts complaining about high prices and asking “when will prices go down?”

And in every year in the last 50 years…… new boat prices went up.

So for cars like the Mach E, when will prices (ADM) go down?

Whenever inflation ends and there ISN’T a waiting list.

And since almost every 2022 is already spoken for…. It may take years for the waiting list to go away.
It happened with the roll of of the regen Thunderbird. People paid up to 10k adm, then were left with being upside down on the car when it came time to sell.

There is an old wall street saying "Bulls win Bears win Pigs never win" I see dealers in my area with 14 Mach e on their lot. How is there a scarcity if there are cars available? A car dealer once told me that 10% of the suckers make up 90% of the profit. Want to see the suckers look in the mirror. There will be a moment when more Mach e are available and supply outweighs demand, at that time these dealers are going to wish they had taken the sales when they could have
You think that is bad??? I wanted to look at a KIA EV6 "Wind" (base model 48K) The listing price was 53 & change , I called NEPTUNE KIA( aka Sansone Jr's 66 Kia ) and they want $8999 on top of THAT!!! I put them on blast everywhere I could ...sent the owner email you name it.

Main reason for 2021 model is power liftgate and acoustic glass? Maybe not having to wait 6-9 months and that's $3,600 in gas cost if they must have a car now?

OR, just buy the 2021 now, then sell that when the 2022 comes in. I think a few people are doing that actually. Get double tax credits (assuming someone has the liability in 1 tax year).

To OP, I question whether those cars are honestly on the lot. Everything shipped is posted, even customer ordered cars so maybe that dealer just got a large shipment and people will be picking them up over the next week and after a bit, there will be 0 available.

Within 60 miles of me, I only see 5 Premiums.
I saw ONE GT ... I see no reason to spend 60K on that ...want the 2022 anyway

I respect and love all of you. This forum is amazing, but if you willingly paid an ADM you are a sucker and I have a great oil I'd like to sell you that will fix all of your problems...
I wonder when we’re going to tire of arguing about ADMs and dealership ethics. Probably never because we’ll always have a steady stream of new members with fresh outrage.

But it’s rude to call people suckers - everyone has their own cost-benefit analysis, and we know that supply and demand can very widely by region. It’s appropriate that your handle is the Black Horse because you appear to be sitting on a high one. And I paid MSRP, btw…

I am troubled by the blanket statement slamming anybody who paid ADM. If they got the car they want at a price that they are willing to pay and got the car when they wanted, then they got a good deal.

The way the market is right now, for an MME most people are going to wait or pay ADM. A year from now, that may be different or it may be worse.

Rather than throwing insults at each other, let's just enjoy our cars, support each other through the quirks and occasional challenges that we face, and build a welcoming community to help each other.

I wouldn’t sweat it.

You could just as easily say that anyone who waited 6+ months is a sucker.

As far as insults go, “sucker” isn’t that big of one.

So I guess we all suck.

You’re right, of course, about us all sucking ? but there’s still no need for insults and sanctimony in the first place, right? If I wanted that, I’d go to any number of Facebook and Reddit forums. Peace!

Ford is moving to a model where there should only be a 20 day supply in any given area. We will more than likely never see flooded dealer lots ever again. The days of "fire sales" are pretty much at an end.

Have you actually seen the cars on the lot? The only reason I ask as it seems there are many people that will drive hundreds of miles to purchase a Mach? If they were just sitting there on the lot I would think they would go fast. Dealers even purchase from other dealers. I do think most dealers would know that near money is dear money and would not hold back on selling. There is a cost to having vehicles sit on the lot. Crazy though if they are just sitting there!
I went to a dealer who had a GTPE in the showroom. They were willing to sacrifice it at $3500 ADM as the salesman said they had a wholeseller who would pay $7000 ADM. I have trouble believing the scenario but they let me leave without the car. I offered MSRP.

I've seen reports of mark ups on wholesale too. I think some sellers have buyers who are willing to pay so honestly, just let them and let them cut the line.

It maybe hard for some people to believe people will pay more for something, but that's true for practically everything so it's not surprising or bad really.

Different people have different needs and $$/time/etc. I'm sure if all of us were not here posting about this for fun, we can use that time and take a 2nd job already (but where's the fun in that). Waiting is it's own fun for some folks (anticipation, excitement, planning).

Pigs get slaughtered!
I’ve also heard: “pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered.”

But none of these sayings seem to apply to cars anyways. There is no bull nor bear market in cars. They aren’t investments (despite what we tell our significant others). ;)
