I’m new to EV and just purchased my mme premium extended range rwd. When I first picked up the car, the max range at 100% charge was at about 260. Slowly that range had increased to almost 300 miles at 100% charge. In the last couple of days the range has dropped back to 256 miles at 100% charge. My driving habits have not changed. The only change is that I swapped out the outlet from a 15amp 120 v to a 20amp 120v. Should I not have changed the outlet or is the drop in range climate related and has nothing to do with me swapping out the outlet. Thanks

It's because of the temperature decrease, completely normal for the range to decrease that much, this has been discussed ad nauseam here if you search and read.

Your outlet has zero impact.

Well you can't find that stuff when you're looking for it. I just got my MMA also and was trying to give it a full 304 mile range charge for a trip. Searched and searched for things I knew I had read before. Finally found this one by searching for 256 which is what my 100% shows. When you're really looking for something specific it can be very hard to find again.

So do you now understand that the range displayed is not accurate, and is impacted by temperature, and that what matters is the miles per kWh you're getting times the size of the battery (i.e. 2.7 x 88 = 237 miles)?

I live in Miami where it is always hot when I bought the car it gave 300 to 325 but lately it only gives 270 or less and I see that the same thing happens to other people I don't know if it was the OTAs or the battery is not reliable

Neither.

The GOM (Guess-O-Meter) will fluctuate based on your usage, and temperature.

In an ICE vehicle, the range changes if you only drive in the city, and shows less range than if you only drive highway. This does the same AND brings in weather conditions.

Pay attention to your miles per kWh. Take that and multiply by 88 and that's your range.

Your lows are still in the mid 60's, that is enough to lower the displayed range. I live in San Diego, does not get "cold" here, but for the car its cold enough. Once temps were constantly in the low 70's at night, displayed range started to drop.

We always reset the trips 1 or 2 before a trip (so far just weekend long trips). The way we calculate during a trip when we start getting a little nervous is:
(Miles driven in 10% battery drop ) / 0.1 * percentage remaining = actual miles remaining.

So far it’s come pretty close to the GOM. When we first picked up ‘22 MME on 2/11, 100% battery had about 180 miles. We woke up this morning to about 250 miles because it was in the 70’s today. Like others said, weather plays a big role in range.

You shouldn't be resetting driving history that much, if at all.

The "Guess" the GOM produces will be far more accurate if you let the car collect driving history instead of resetting it all the time.

Haven't reset mine since I picked it up over a year ago.

Sorry I meant the trips 1 and 2. I’ll update my post
