Anyone else has this happened? Ordered was placed online. Dealership calls up and said they want additional $2,000 deposit or else they would cancel the order. Is it too late the transfer the order to another dealership?

Dealership should have set that up in the order system. I would contact Ford and file a complaint.

Unfortunately you have a better chance of winning the lottery jackpot than being able to transfer your order to another dealership. You have also lost the opportunity to place a new order for a Premium or California Rte 1 model right now since Ford shut new orders off a few days ago.

The best option right now is keep scouring dealers for ones that become available at their location due to a customer backing out or one that was already ordered for dealer stock. Just be prepared for a dealer markup if you find one available.

Prior to dealer acceptance you can ask Ford Corp to select another dealer you choose. Getting your initial deposit when you reserved will be the issue -- Ford Corp will have to comment on when you call support to have your reservation changed. $2K after the fact ain't cool.

Also, get it changed to Ford Store Morgan Hill. Confirm but they are not adding ADM to the MSRP and are high volume and therefore get favor with allotment. It was my first choice but since I was 3 hrs away I opted for closer and still got msrp but extra 2 mos wait due to allocations. If shenanigans were at play with closer dealer (48 miles away) -- I would have gone to FSMH (130 miles away) where I bought prior several cars at $400 above invoice in the past.

Was this Fremont?
Yup, it was Freakmont Ford. (even though not Fremont Ford, would look at link 2 post down)

Correction:
Mission Valley Ford
780 East Brokaw Rd
San Jose, CA 95112

Sucks it they know they got you by the ballz since Ford isn't taking orders for the Premium anymore.

I wouldn't have a problem with this as long as they sign a price agreement that also indicates your whole deposit is refundable.

Contact Mike Levine on Twitter or Instagram and explain what’s happening.

I would be okay if it was upfront. Like how the online shows ADM now. But not afterwards. Also, its extra $2000 working for someone else and not you. Could be 3...6...9 months before you see the Mach-E.

Report them to Mike Levine and Jim Farley on twitter, then find another dealership to do business with. Ford sent letters to all dealerships back in January. In summary;

Ford Vice President of Sales Andrew Frick wrote, “It has come to our attention that a limited number of dealerships are interacting with customers in a manner that is negatively impacting customer satisfaction and damaging to the Ford Motor Company brand and Dealer Body reputation. These actions are perceived as threatening customers by withholding their opportunity to convert reservations to orders,” Frick’s letter said. “This behavior is not allowable.”

Then, that dealership will have its allocations cancelled for the rest of the year.

Last sentence is conjecture. Ford did not say they would cancel allocations for the rest of the year.
