Yikes. Between, Reddit, Facebook and this forum... I'm seeing proportionally more 2021 Job 2 GT/GTPE cars with this issue over standard 4X trims. I'm beginning to think that potentially every 2021 GT and GTPE could be affected by this. Either we all got a bad batch of parts or it's a bad design.

I guess we'll find out if it's a bad design if this ends up happening multiple times to the same car within a 10,000 mile time frame. Otherwise, it may be just a bad batch of parts.

Wellp, I'm not doing anything else today, so happy to try that. I am a bit skeptical that this is the problem.
Understood. My thinking is the module that does the weld check is stuck because the contactor check failed. So, if the contactor is in fact welded shut then your car is now DOA. But, if that contactor is NOT closed, then a module reset should power up the car again.

Of course, that just resolves the symptom and not the cause. There does appear to be a brewing issue with the junction box unfortunately. :(

This seems like it's not just one bad batch of parts -- there's no pattern that's easy to see from the internet reports of these problems. Some cars are new, some old, some lots of miles, some just off the lot. Some in cold places, some in warm places.

This feels like there's a badly-designed part, or the parts do not have the long-term reliability they expected.

Yeah I think I want a new part in there -- this could be a lot worse if I was stranded somewhere instead of in Mach N Cheese HQ with a battery charger on the car to keep the 12V happy. Want to try and address the problem if I can.

There Is another thing to try. Hold the power button down for one minute. Another forum member recently suggested that is analogous to a hard reboot of the software.

Hmmmmmm. the HVB contactor is stuck closed -- this doesn't seem like a ctrl-alt-del sorta situation. But okay, I'm just sitting at home reading the forums, sure I'll try that.

Alas, this did not work -- no change.

I still haven’t seen someone else confirm this
I can confirm this did nothing, except perhaps increase my finger strength a bit.

At this rate they won’t even need a recall. Every GT built last year will have already been through this lol.
yeah but they could be putting in parts which fail again

Here's Cheesemobile HQ -- I think there's enough room to roll it out and turn sorta around to then be able to winch it properly

Oh just do it! There are many things that can happen driving your car -- even an ICE one.
