Well, I'm with you there - my other car is a '97 Tacoma with manual everything. Going between it and the MachE is like, well, going 25 years back in time.
I have a question, I’m a nurse. I visit patients in their homes. If I use my phone as a key. Can I still lock the car with the phone inside? Will physically locking it override the phone? I like the outside keypad.

If you turn off Bluetooth, I believe so. You could also just turn the phone off...

I’m a woman and honestly I’ve never really known how any car I’ve had worked. For a long time I never even knew where the oil went in my car. Now I don’t need to know!

My overall perspective is that anything that really goes wrong it’s going to have to go to Ford. I did print out the towing instructions because the Mach n Cheese post scares the crap out of me!

I think these cars might be even easier to troubleshoot because it’s basically a giant computer.

I’ve had my car for a little over 2 months. I love how it drives and how easy it is to drive. I love that it’s easy to charge, it makes rush hour so much easier and less stressful. I use PAAK exclusively. I’ve never had issues with it. I sometimes have little computer stuff that gets a little odd, but nothing I’ve been super worried about.

You‘re overthinking it. I spent the first few months after I ordered over analyzing the order process and didn’t spend a lot of time on the technical side. I figured I had time. Then I got impatient and bought one off a lot. I read through the posts on picking up the car and what to check. I watched a bunch of videos on setting up the options and settings. This was super helpful. I also watched videos on fast charging.

I guess I find it really easy because I was in my old car today with a key and ignition and I couldn’t figure out how to get the damn key out of the ignition! I then realized I hadn’t turned it all the way back! This car has spoiled me! Lol ?

Hey lady! Fellow woman here! I have owned my MMe for nearly a year and while I now understand so much more about my car thanks to everyone on this forum, I didn't know diddly shit about it when I ordered mine originally. ?

It may feel a bit daunting jumping into your first EV, I know I was nervous about the charging and that stuff, but it really is easy to adapt too. This car for the most part is basically a plug and play thing. Sure you have to learn what all the buttons do and mess around with stuff, but that comes with any new vehicle. Don't let all the technical talk mumbo jumbo here scare ya. If you ever have a problem you can rest assured someone else here has probably been through it and we are all helpful in helping solve anything you could run into. The search on this forum is a life saver and even if you can't find it with the search, you make a post and if it exists already someone will let you know and direct you to the answer.

I'm excited to see more women enjoying this car, now and in the future when more get their orders in! I look forward to seeing yours when you get it and can't wait to hear how exciting that first drive is and every one after will be!!

simplify your life: use the fob. many here put up with the idiosyncrasies and problems. My wife and I have fobs and life is good.

I think with phone as a key setup, if your phone is in the car then anyone could open up the car (same as if a fob was left inside). You'd need to turn off bluetooth, or just not use phone as a key if you typically need to leave the phone in the car.

I stand corrected, see below - I just tried it and it works! After you setup a personal door code you can lock your PAAK phone in the car, as long as you use the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons to lock it instead of the normal lock button.

Actually you can lock the phone in the car with PAAK, once you exit the vehicle, push the 7-8 and 9-0 buttons on the door and it will lock. I do this every morning. It won’t unlock until you enter the door code.

LOL
I certainly could offer up what my wife thinks about the car.
She loves it.

Of course she doesn’t have to deal with it when it turns into a brick that’s when I kick in and get nasty. My ratings would be lower.

I bought and sold two and she loved them both and we have two more on order I’m going to love them more if they work better

So I think we have to determine if women are the soul agents for the vehicle or whether they just turn over the heavy lifting to their husband which amazingly enough does still occur in some marriages although I bet it’s on the decline. I still open doors and stand up when they come to the dinner table but I’m like a Cro-Magnon man

I think your poling would be more accurate if you asked if they’re the sole owner and those charged with the upkeep of the vehicle keeping it running on the road and dealing with our friends…. the dealership.

Plus just to be politically correct you’re gonna have to open it up to those people who check X on the box and can’t decide or may be transitioning and moving into a new reality or finding something different in their trousers or dress.

And if it’s possible to be banned from the site I think this post of mine might just do it for me

Jes sayin

who cares.

I think you are doing yourself a disservice by thinking that because you’re a woman you can’t know the intricacies of the charging curve or what your average consumption is, I suggest watching a couple YouTube videos and it’s all pretty simple, girls are better at math anyways ;)

I’m ashamed to say, I did not think of that?
No need! I just tried @Logal727's suggestion and it worked great. Even us geeks can learn a new trick every so often.

And just to comment on what others have said to, don't confuse interest and ability - if you aren't interested in messing with cars that is fine, but don't assume you can't. Most of the women I hang out with are also engineers, and some of them have much bigger batteries than I do on their test benches!

Ladies,
I need your perspective on ownership of the MME. I see the menfolks posting all kinds of technical data. All kinds of gadgets they use and problems I would have no idea where to even start with troubleshooting.??‍♀
Basically, I want a reliable car. Get up, go to work, shop, come home, and plug in. Rinse and repeat. I’m getting nervous that I may not have enough knowledge to drive this thing. How do you ladies feel?
I don’t think this is just a man car. My wife currently is driving an expedition and we are trading that for the Mach e in2-3 weeks for a premium. I still have a CART1 on order since Dec but grabbed the premium since it was available. I have a 2021 explorer I am driving and will give to my wife when I get the Mach e. That said, my wife is not in love with the explorer. She says the 10 speed transmission is too jerky and her 2017 expedition is much nicer to drive. I told her drive the explorer a few months and if she is not happy with it we can get a new expedition. What I am thinking is by then the CART1 will be available and we can make a decision after she has experience the Mach e. We could be a 2 Mach e family!

Also if you have FordPass on your watch and you are outside the car you can use that to unlock it too, I found that out one day when I reset my door code and didn’t know the master one lol

So excited for you guys! I'm warning you now, she is never going to let you drive her Mach-e! ? I make excuses to take mine around town to get stuff or to just drive because the sun is out. Went on a drive yesterday because it was nice and I had nothing else to do. Ended up over an hour away from home and then just turned around and drove home, (after a quick stop at best buy for a new gaming keyboard ?). Wasted a solid 2 and half hours driving around just because it's so damn fun!
