A little inconvenience I have discovered today. It looks like the charger port door and carwash are not compatible. The carwash pushes the door and it opens right in the middle of washing. Is it supposed to be like that or am I missing something?
The dealer told me that it is totally ok to use automatic carwash. But it seems the word "totally" is a little overstatement

I always use touch free automatic washes. It’s a well known issue that brush type washes can open and remove the door from the car. Then you risk the car being scratched while it falls down the side of the car or the door damaged by the wash equipment. Some folks who absolutely must brush wash put a piece of painters tape on the door…….. I have a good coat of ceramic spray and brushless cleans the car well.

Your paint will thank you with no swirl marks and scratches if not washed through a brush tripe car wash. Your “x”s on the doors will be there for a long time as well,

I’ve been running my car through a wash with brushes for a year now. No issues. I do know that brushes can leave swirls, but haven’t noticed any.

I was just surprised to find that even when the doors are locked you can still open the charge port door. I thought for sure that the charge port door would be locked too.

Been using a car wash for 14 months now. Once it pressed hard enough to pop the door but it didn't open fully, just the 1/2" or so. Turns out I didn't have it latched properly.

That was it...cars been through many a car wash before and since without and issue. Make sure the door is good and closed.

There is no lock on the charge port door, just a latch. Thus, it cannot lock. I would have preferred the type of door hinge arrangement that Ford used on the Fusion Energi to what the MME has on it. ?‍♂?

I have't had that issue with the car wash, but about half the time I go through the car wash the small panel on the front bumper pops off. I'm not sure what's for. I remember seeing pics in the forums, somewhere, but can't find them.

The wires behind that small cover are needed to open your front hood if the 12V battery has failed.
