Dealer called today with a cancelled order. I had 15 minutes to get to the dealer to look and buy. I did it. It took all 15 minutes to waffle back and forth on the color.

So, I'm a 10/4/21 Person
Space White (the best Color ever IMO)
Extended Range AWD Premium.

My Build date was 5/30/22 which was moved to 6/13/22.

The available car:
The Color is Silver Blue Metallic
AWD Extended Range
Dark Interior (not my first choice, Space White is the best Color IMO). However the car is loaded as in NO removed features.

It still has:
  • It has the Sound Sonic front windshield (hurrah!)
  • Park assist is still present and fully funtional (Double Hurrah - for the wife)
  • Blue Cruise - Yay?.
  • Tail Gate with motion Activation...meh...sounds like an accident waiting to happen in the garage...
  • 2 Keys (yay?)

No ADM, I still get to use Xplan etc.

The only mark up is the dealer standard fleece you upgrade stuff which was already added by previous holder (Doh!.....that I couldn't undo and I tried) but there were literally 4 sales guys in line waiting for my answer on buying the car, and they weren't going to budge because the work was already done.

The extras were about 2.2 k. (including paying taxes on the add-ons which infuriates me) Which sucks. However Looking at the prospect of adding Park assist on to my existing order (whenever it becomes available) at $180 an hour shop rate...there is no way its going to cost $350 to add that back in.

1) They Ceramic Coated it already.
2) The "upgrade" purchased came with a body protection / glass protection / package that will fix all dings and dents (not hail) etc over 3" with paint for free. Glass the same.
3) A 2nd Key. ($500?)
4) They "protected" the interior with something that I don't need...
5) Xplan dropped fees to $100.

This stuff (even the Ceramic caoting) I hate paying 2x for so, but i'm burning $400 a week in gas with my Landy LR4. Its a wash after two months.

Anyway. I now own a Silver Blue Metallic Mach E.

I am still keeping my Space White order just in case we want a second EV.

I need suggestions for Tint / Wrap shops in The Arvada to Thornton Colorado areas.

I bought it. Pick it Up Monday.

Its nice. I think with full tint and some more black it will really grow on me. I was REALLY set on space white. This was too good of an option to pass up.

I wasn't going to install a charger until next month.......mistakes were made....I'll be sharing with the dryer for a few weeks. LOL.

Congratulations on your car!! I love my IBSM GT. IMHO the color is gorgeous and it gets lots of compliments. As a major bonus the color hides dirt better than the Space White. (There's one in our neighborhood and when it gets dirty, dang it gets dirty!)

Enjoy!

Oh, and regarding charging, I charged mine on 120V for the first five weeks or so because I also got a canceled order unexpectedly (sadly with ADM however). I would have loved to have had the option to share with a dryer, but our is gas :p

I mentioned to the Dealer that this color as a GT would look EPIC.

You're absolutely right! But I gotta imagine it looks mighty fine on your car too. But I totally get it - I held out for IBSM even though I kept getting calls about other colors, ironically including Space White... Car colors are obviously a very personal choice.

I do have the mach 1 in my avatar picture.....so I cannot complain too much. If I start to feel sorry for myself I can always drive the 1969 around.

Since I have your attention in particular.....I have questions.

Do I need a glass screen protector?
would you recommend a charge port waterproof cover?

Thanks

I've only had mine a couple months, so I'm no expert. AFAIK the charge port is weatherproof as delivered... When you take delivery of your car you'll see that there is a seal around the interior edge of the door. I took my car to a hand wash place yesterday and when I opened it to wipe it out (in my experience there are always drips even though they're supposed to dry everything), the inside was bone dry.

Regarding the screens, I've considered one for the big screen, but so far haven't gotten one. There are threads on this forum that cover this topic better than I ever could...

Don’t all still have that windshield? It’s the laminated glass front windows that were removed. It already comes with a second key, why did they charge you?

I got the AOSK matte screen protector and love it. Definitely dims the display but no glare issues and, better yet, no fingerprints! When I sold my Premium and pulled off the protector, I definitely liked how it looks without it, but it instantly smudges like crazy. I did not put one on the drivers screen; I never touch it and don’t see the reason

The background to your avatar is what really draws the eye - best-looking jet ever.

Yeah, A NAVY Jet in the middle of Colorado is what caught my eye. The pilot was taking more pictures than I was. What are the chances a NAVY jet would be in the middle of the country AND have the same paint scheme as my car? Probably a once in a lifetime chance.

I replaced the sky in my picture as the photo had faded and lost all color. This was taken back in 1992 at Buckley AFB for a charity event called "wings and wheels". The picture of my car with a P51 is still floating around the interwebs as well. Here we go: https://mustangsmustangs.com/p-51/image_viewer/mustangsx2/home/24239787/132661143/12

Yeah. Every car built since July 2021 comes with a 2nd key fob.

I really hope they didn’t charge the OP for that as a line item!
