Every time I start up now for the past week or so, for some reason I'm getting a "ding ding" alert. Nothing appears on the displays. Anyone know what that means?

Check to make sure your headlight switch has not changed to "on". It is a known bug and maybe that is what you are noticing. It happens to me once every month or two. So not too frequently, but enough to be annoying.

I get this ding, but it’s usually three times. My headlights are on auto and even resetting them on and off, it still does it. Can’t figure it out.

Maybe seatbelt not fastened when turning on car?

It might be the predictive destination feature. Is this only happening when you leave from home in the morning, or when you leave work later in the day?

It should pop up with the navigation destination suggestion on screen, but since SYNC takes a year and a half to boot/reboot/settle/putz-around, you are hearing it but not seeing it.

You can turn off the predictive destination thing in your settings. I forget the precise terminology. I think "myTrends"?

My "predictive" navigation sometimes predicts a trip to a location I have never visited before. Bizarre.

Yeah, some of these tones are weird. I still haven’t figured out what the alert sound that happens when I open my tailgate means, I searched for a compilation of Ford alert tones, but couldn’t find anything. Anyone know if there’s something like that?

I assumed the tones I hear had something to do with the annoying XM satellite radio preview that I don’t want. Was there a way to stop that? It is a pain that I can’t select a person to call when I get in my car until that banner goes away!

I got mine to stop but now I cannot remember what I did. There must be a confirmation you can select to get rid of it.

I recall reading someone saying you go to Sirius radio, hit pause on the preview channel, and then it shouldn’t come up again!

Same here. Car is not started/on, open the hatch and get these chimes when opening completes.

Came here to say this.
First couple times it happened I was confused about the "bong bong" happening for no apparent reason but then realized it coincided with the myTrends making a suggestion on the map.
