Got stranded at a Charger 750 miles from home, Mach-e had to be towed away on dollies after waiting 8 hours

After reading all of this and what others have gone through I am so mad I could spit. This IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FORD !!! I paid almost $80k for a car that STRANDED US for 8 hours at a F--king closed SAMS CLUB!!! Does FORD WANT any more business of mine after buying 14 CARS from them over the last 4 decades!?! I guess not...

I called my SA and they thought I was going to FLY DOWN on my OWN DIME to pickup a car that STRANDED US for 8 hours in a parking lot!!!

I got multiple alerts in Ford Pass today - first that they FORGOT to add coolant so the battery pack on our car overheated and then they HOT ROD it as a "test drive". How did they use almost 2kWh in 1.8 miles!?! This is all BS and SOME of them know it but they cant say anything...

@RickMachE No, this is beyond unacceptable. My wife and I drove our Mach-E-GT, that cost over $80k, using Ford's app to get us there and STRANDS us for 8 hours - YES eight m-f HOURS at a closed SAMs club!

Then they have the audacity to think I'm going to go pickup our car - 13 hours away on MY DIME!!! Like I'll just buy a ticket at cash price as if it's nothing....

Like many others reading about the HVJB issue, I am worried about this happening to my car. I am even carrying a backup battery (for jump starts) to revive the LVB if stranded.

I would like to say that I won't feel like you do Evan, but I might. Ford needs to address this issue ASAP. I have a bad feeling that even repaired cars may fail again. How pissed off will you be if it happens twice?

I definitely love my car, but it is just a car. And I can end up hating it also. Hopefully that won't happen.

I get you're pissed and I would be too. But this, right here, isn't that the opposite of trolling? Isn't proactively finding people with problems and fixing them just good customer service?

This goes way beyond providing "good customer service" -- there is a design defect in the Mach-E's battery electronics that is causing the vehicle to be randomly stranded. There is no pattern of owner behavior or temperature or car state when this occurs, and it has happened to all of the trims and model years, from early Job 1 cars to one that was 3 weeks old.

Ford should be acknowledging this serious safety defect immediately. I hope they are developing a plan on doing so along with a fix before someone is injured or killed. (At least one account I read on the forum had an owner's car brick and become barely controllable while at highway speed).

It seems obvious the vehicles with replaced battery electronics components continue to have this design defect and may be just as succeptable to another failure.

I, for one, am pretty disappointed in the defect and the seeming lack of urgency on the part of Ford to provide transparency and a fix that would give me reassurance that I can trust this car to carry my family.

The fact that Ford is sending an engineer to look at Evan's car suggests this problem isn't as widespread as it appears to those of us participating in this forum. There must not be a lot of failures for them to investigate if they are still sending out engineers. And if they know the cause would they still be sending out engineers? Maybe to confirm they know the cause, but still.

Maybe, just maybe, this is a rare problem and not as common as it appears in a car forum where people come to complain about the car.

That said, I am still worried.

Ford clearly needs to get on top of this, and determine a fix.

I feel bad for OP. I’d be so pissed with no where to really vent if I was stranded far away from home at night. This is basically every car owners worst fear that isn’t an accident.

Also admittedly a bit nervous now that 22s are getting sick too…
