So I decided to take the plunge and bought everything needed to do updates myself. Things have been going smoothly and was able to get myself unstuck from 1.7.1 OTA. I then continued onto the next module APIM/Sync and after 1.5 hrs this error came up. The battery has never gone below the 13.4 while on the battery supply. My HVB is at 69% and I do not have that plugged in as I didn't think it would need to be. Do I need to get above the 80% charge?

Or is this just a warning, and I can just continue since I have everything setup and battery never drops below...?

Thanks,

Ken~

Not sure why it thinks your LVB SOC is 0%, but if you have a power supply hooked up that can deliver 40A, just hit continue. This is not related to the HVB at all.

Well I freaked out and cancelled, but will go through the steps again and when it comes back up hit continue. Didn't want to brick the car or kill the batter, but have been watching it like a hawk and never dropped below the 13.4v.
Can I also charge the main HVB at the same time I am doing these updates..? I just went and plugged it up, but can unplug if needed.

I believe those notes are related to your LVB. The HVB SOC shouldn't be much of a factor at all.

From what I remember, there are a dozen and a half things that can cause an update to fail. One of those is the HVB charging. So, don't charge it while updating.

Do I not have this hooked up correctly..? Been doing updates since 8:30am and the battery supply and FDRS never showed it below 13.4V

So I had the car fully unplugged not charging anything except keeping the small under the frunk battery on the battery supply above. I think I can continue on again, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

You do not. The negative clamp needs to go on the jump post, not the battery terminal. You're bypassing the BCM the way you have it, so the car can't keep track of the external power going in.

Okay, I just moved the negative over to the small jump post. Will start that big module update again and see if I get the same error.

Thanks,

Ken~

Yup, that's correct.
I don't have FDRS so I don't know.....
Doesn't it link the user to the section in the WSM that shows where to connect the maintainer? For example, when it says to connect the device to the LVB, isn't there a blue hyperlink to the diagram that shows those connections?
