I am interested to get a Ford Protect warranty, however, I am not sure what the Ford extended warranty plan actually covers for our cars. https://www.lombardfordwarrantys.com are running a special through memorial day...but I am reading the fine print.

It does include:
Engine - Cylinder block and Internal Lubricated Parts, seals and gaskets, the cylinder heads, manifold (Exhaust, Intake and bolts), factory installed turbocharger/ supercharger units, timing chain (gears or belt), flywheel, valve covers, oil pan, timing chain cover, oil pump, water pump, thermostat, thermostat housing. Also flywheel ring gear, diesel lift pump and gas and diesel fuel injectors, heater core assembly, radiator, radiator fan, radiator fan clutch or motor, ETA pump hose assembly, alternator, starter motor, electronic ignition module, radiator fan relay, fuel pump, starter motor solenoid. (our cars have NONE of those things)

What it does NOT include:
electric Vehicle’s main power cell batteries are not included in this coverage
or our actual drive train motors ???

and:

If You elected Powertrain Wrap Coverage, You have new PremiumCARE coverage for all components except components covered under PowertrainCARE. Powertrain Wrap Coverage applies only to the original Service Contract Holder for the selected coverage and is not transferable to any subsequent vehicle owner.

What am I missing?

They got back to me promptly...but so far they are not providing me any confidence that anything to do with what makes are cars actually GO is actually covered at all.

Nothing on drive motors, nothing on motor controllers, charging circuits, charge port, traction battery (with some caveat for degradation) etc.

Correct but those are covered under the 8 year 100K warranty ford anyway, this plan covers everything else, screens, wiper motors, power seat, cooling system, heating system. drive axles, brake calipers, climate control, AC, suspension, traction control systems, window motors basically everything else bumper to bumper. You just have to read what is NOT covered, Hybrid/Electric components (manufacturers 8/100), upholstery as well as paint/trim. To me its a pretty good value. Always compare cost with Flood Ford.

So a 125K mile warranty is useless for drive components?

Correct! High Voltage Battery and cables covered by 8/100 and no extension. I put an 8/100 on my Select that I sold it was $1700 with zero deductible. for basically a B to B warranty, I did not think that was crazy and it matched the EV component warranty. 1 head light bulb is nearly $1K since they are sealed assemblies.....

Factory Warranty: Depending on your vehicle, electric drivetrain system components covered by this warranty may include, and are not limited to:

• High-voltage battery
• High-voltage battery connector
• High-voltage battery isolation switch (manual disconnect switch)
• Battery pack fan assembly
• Battery pack sensor module HBPSM)
• Battery energy control module (BECM)
• On-board charger
• On-board charger fan assembly
• Inverter system controller (ISC), DC/DC converter
• Hybrid continuously
• Variable transmission
• Transmission range sensor
• Electronic drive module assembly (the electric motor and gearbox).

I take that back. That's what it used to be. Now it states everything but the battery is covered for the term So you can get more than 100K on all but the battery and cables........

q) Damage caused by the environment and pollution, including airborne fallout, corrosion chemicals, debris, tree sap, salt, hail, windstorm, lightning, freezing, flooding, earthquake, snow or ice; r) Damage caused by theft, vandalism, terrorism, riot or acts of war;
s) All Wear Items are excluded except when LeaseCARE is purchased.

I am happy to report that Lombard Ford Warranties did follow up with me and produced the ACTUAL correct document for what is covered with Extended warranties on our Mach E vehicles.

Please see the attached.

FYI: I called Ford and was connected to their warranty department, and emailed grangermotors.com and NEITHER could get me the correct document (actually said the attached document did not exist).

Attached is the correct extended warranty document for our Mach E Vehicles...and my reward to them was giving them my business.

So my dealer sold the Powertrain + Wrap coverage and it seems flood ford is selling the premium coverage for 1455$ (200$ deductible) and mine seems to be lot higher . Mine is vehicle is few day old so still have an option to cancel the coverage that dealer provided. Have a couple of questions and would appreciate the help:

1. It seems like you don't have to buy the ESP now and could be bought within manufactures warranty which is 36months?
2. Dealer says you can cancel the ESP, can I buy again via FloodFord?
3. Flood ford pricing is the best available?
4. What is the kind of coverage required for ESP?

I went thru granger motors. $0 deductible for 60k miles/60mos including LEDs and key replacement was $800 on my GT. Having lost TWO keys on my last car ($100+ each!!) I am happy to pay for this coverage.

+1 on the headlight assembly. Buddy of mine had a $1200 quote to replace one on his car. He was about to pull the trigger when the LED strip on his other headlight went out. Since the failures were symmetrical, he just rolled with it.
