JFC! Its right there in front of me! I saw the "start date" and "end date" but did not see the ETA above them :D
This car better be exceptional for all this trouble!

Here's this week's ship report from Ford chat so far:
  • Monday - down for holiday
  • Tuesday - Lecheria EM
  • Wednesday - Laredo TX
  • Thursday - Laredo TX
Based on the two out of three rule, guess the car is in TX. That is one fast train - Lecheria to Laredo in one day! Why am I so skeptical?
Edit
This just in - KCS railroad says the railcar which my car may or may not be on is currently at Vidor TX, just past Beaumont. Scheduled to arrive in Kansas City Sunday morning 5am.

Frankly, I don’t care where the car is at. I just want it to be delivered after July 1st when Illinois introduces $4,000 state tax credit and before July 31st when the tag on my existing car expires.
This is hilarious because this is where I'm at. I got an estimated delivery of July 6th as a Chicago-area buyer and was excited. I already let my dealer know I was out of town the final week of June so this arrival time was perfect (I'm not out of town, but don't want to have to pick it up that week and miss the credit).

I'm a little unsure of the Illinois tax credit though because of the means aspect of it; prioritizing lower income. I believe you have to fill out the form within 60 days of purchase as well and be granted approval. Unsure if my income will prevent me from receiving it. In general, it doesn't make much sense.

You need to make over the means limit to pay $4000 in state tax, yet the rebate is for $4000 and prioritizes people that wouldn't pay $4000 in state tax more than likely. Once I saw it wasn't coming in April or sooner, I didn't even want it until July - $11500 off the price of the car is a heck of a deal when combining with Federal.

I’m okay with income limits even it disqualifies me, but it has to make sense and be actionable. I heard the state’s EPA will be publishing rules by mid June. Hope to get clarity then.

With an x-plan pricing and having ordered before two price increases, plus $7,500 in fed tax incentive AND a ridiculously high valuation on my used car, I feel greedy looking for more money :)

I just tried calling CSM for the car tracking and there was "no status available". Might be because I got the car number a couple days ago and it might have changed in the mean time? I'm just going to choose to believe my car is with the others that are moving through TX right now!

I'm OK with it, I just don't think it makes sense in this climate. If you don't have an income that high, you likely can't afford a 40-50k car and you're also likely not even paying $4000 in state tax.

Electric cars are expensive. I read the bill when it was passed and it discusses the median income in your area (without defining an area). Me and my wife are above that, but it also doesn't say you'll be ineligible, it just says they're going to prioritize lower income people... but with filing right after July 1st, prioritization shouldn't be an issue.

And yes, we're in similar boats. Trade in value, $7500 federal and possibly $4000 state. With my down payment I think I'll likely end up financing like 20k maximum.

Completely agree w/ you.

Which dealer did you go through? I’m with Bredemann.

hey there

5992 606/874 cr1 er rwd ibsm
ordered 12/24/21 expected delivery end of July. anybody know if they drill the holes for the front license plate at the factory? I've requested them not to add it but it was automatically included in my online order (probably because I'm in CA). I've called the dealership and told them not to attach it but if there are already holes maybe it's better to do the plate anyway.

any help is appreciated

Typically dealer installed. Vehicle has barely visible small indentations to use as an installation guide.
Congratulations on the build and welcome to the super friendly 5/16 gang!!

I personally prefer to deal with a local business and encourage a human to not kill this profession but I think with all bad behaviours from some of them, a lot consumers will not forget and will prefer to order online.
@Sam7, in general I’m in your camp about local businesses. But in this case I would say good riddance. They will not be missed.
