Had a glitch with the headlights today? Slightly different from the regular auto --> on. Maybe.

Maybe a silly question, but why aren't you just leaving the dial in the auto position and letting the car manage the headlights as needed so there is nothing to remember or forget when entering or exiting the vehicle?
I do leave it in auto.

But there's a known glitch where sometimes the Mach E takes it upon itself to change from "auto" to "headlights on".

Usually it's not a big pain because when you shut off the car it beeps at you telling you the headlights are still on. And the solution to the glitch is just to rotate the headlights knob until it's back to "auto".

But this is the first time it seemingly turned the lights on after I had already parked and gotten out. So there wasn't an opportunity to fix the glitch before getting out.

Thank you for this thread. Just the other day my car started beeping at me when I went to leave the car, but there was no message why it was beeping. This went on for 2 days when it finally happened at night and I noticed the lights didn't go off. I assumed I had accidently turned the lights on, but now I see this may be a known glitch.

I was 100% fob for the first 3 months of ownership and now 100% PAAK for the past 2 months. Didn’t matter. Happened in both scenarios. What is even worse is when you look at the knob, the light isn’t on showing it’s in the “on” position. You have to turn the knob one position to have it light up and then it shows it’s in the “on” position.

@veronicablack if you hit the unlock on the FOB and then hold it a second time, it drops the windows. Lock and lock-hold will put them back up.

Yes re: the light not showing up in the "on" position!

And good to know about the windows thing. I think I already knew about that and vaguely remembered it but couldn't remember the exact button combo.
