I do leave it in auto.Maybe a silly question, but why aren't you just leaving the dial in the auto position and letting the car manage the headlights as needed so there is nothing to remember or forget when entering or exiting the vehicle?
But there's a known glitch where sometimes the Mach E takes it upon itself to change from "auto" to "headlights on".
Usually it's not a big pain because when you shut off the car it beeps at you telling you the headlights are still on. And the solution to the glitch is just to rotate the headlights knob until it's back to "auto".
But this is the first time it seemingly turned the lights on after I had already parked and gotten out. So there wasn't an opportunity to fix the glitch before getting out.
