So you can run Waze and Apple Maps at the same time in CarPlay. You can have Apple Maps up on the screen, and have Waze set to alerts only and it will give you the alerts. Also, a speed trap on the way home, Waze warned me and Apple Maps was clueless.

So to simply this, use Apple Maps to get turn by turn instructions on the IPC and use Waze on the center screen for peer reports. This what we typically do.
