UK Mach-E GT VIN help

Hi, first post here although have been lurking for a while.

I have got a Mach-e GT on order through uk dealer, have received an email from ford uk to say car is on way, after speaking to dealer they have provided me with the last 11 digits of VIN number, but say they are unable to provide the start part, which is confusing if the car is built. I have tried searching with some of the information I have gathered from the internet with what I believe the VIN should start with for UK GT model, but none of the trackers like the number I have provided.

WMI UK/EU = WF0
Restraint = T
UK GT model = R4S

The 11 digits provided by the dealer start with S, which is the last character of the model if I understand the 17 digits correctly.

Would anybody be able to inform me if I am correct or not with this

Thank you, I'm hoping that mine is also on the ship, but unfortunately can't find a tracker that works for me.

All I get with what I believe should be the complete VIN is vehicle not found. Ordered from dealer, January 13th 2022.

Unfortunately sales person I dealt with left dealership last month and new team member I've been handed to doesn't seem to know how the system works fully, they say complete VIN or Ford order number not available to them which I doubt.

Ordered through dealer straight after I had test drive, though now wishing I had ordered online.

If you need help I can complete your VIN for you.

The bit that catches a lot of people out is the check digit in the middle that has a wonderful calculation to create it. I created a spreadsheet last year to help calculate that digit.

If you send me a direct message with the fragment your dealer has provided you with I can create and validate the rest for you.

If you ordered in January, it’s likely to be built and somewhere on the journey to Dagenham via Antwerp. If you now have your vin, check https://www.whereismymme.com .

The site will confirm if it is definitely built on the Vehicle Info tab but may not confirm shipping dates or details. It didn’t for me; I’m collecting mine on Saturday and it was still showing at Veracruz until about 2 weeks ago!

Assume shipping dates are about 4 weeks after the build date, check my threads on shipment numbers. Go to the Grimaldi link in the posts and, unfortunately, you have to try each shipment number with your VIN until it returns a result. The very recent ones have a LOT of shipment numbers.

Sorry, I’m not aware of a quicker way to check if WIMMME doesn’t show the shipment number.

W_D can you retrieve a vin from the last 5 digits, my car is in the country but I only have the last 5 numbers ?

Thanks to Wonky_Donkey I have been able to use where is my mme, I have a build date of 20220503, but tracking map still shows has being in Veracruz, with this as the latest info

• VMACS Status Description: COMPOUND IN
• VMACS2 status code: 91
• VMACS3 status code: 711
• VMACS Status Date: 29. June 2022 17:25

I am wondering if the 29/06 ties in with it being on the ship that arrived in Antwerp on 28/06 but without the shipping number I can't be sure.

Unfortunately, checking the posts for the last couple of departing ships shows over 1000 possible shipping numbers to search, and currently don't have the time to sit and check through that many.

If I get chance over the weekend I will look at trying to build a script that will parse all numbers with my VIN and search until it gets a result.

I wanted to be able to give you some good news - so I started manually going through the shipping list with your VIN.

Unfortunately I gave up after trying the first 60 or so shipping numbers ? there were so many more to still check.

To get a 100% definitive answer get your dealer to check their system called VISTA - it will show a location code such as VERACRUZ or ANT - and that will at least tell you what side of the Atlantic your car is on and possibly save you checking 100’s of shipping numbers
