Update:
Mike E is home in the stable.
Dealer experience was superb (shout-out to Eby Ford in Goshen,IN - they honored price and APR protection, AND they honored the X-Plan, no questions asked). I was in and out in about an hour. They did say they had never done the options plan before (and I believe them, they all seemed really confused about it), and tried to talk me out of it. I let them win that battle, because overall it wouldn't have saved me much money in the end (my APR on the options would have been 1.9%, while my APR with financing was 0.9% - I would have come out a little ahead after the $1500 options incentive, but not by enough to risk the wrath of my 2 months old daughter who was at the dealership with my wife and I and was starting to get fussy)

And apparently Ford heard my angst - my salesperson told me that someone drove it to the dealership - it wasn't on a truck. But hey, I'll take it, it got it to me sooner!

And the drive home. What can I say. It's a marvelous car. One drive home was enough to make me forget how hard it was to wait.

I am so looking forward to driving this beauty to work tomorrow.

A quick update. My dealer reached out to Jack Cooper this AM and got an update. They said it was put into the Ford holding yard once the recall was issued at Richards Gebaur here in KC. When the fix was issued, the car never got pulled from holding and slipped through the cracks. They claim they'll have the car delivered by Monday. So maybe in the turmoil of the "stop delivery" or "hold" my car became an innocent victim in the confusion.

I got the call from dealership yesterday. Unfortunately, I was out of town. I am going to pick mine at 6 pm. Hopefully things will go fine.

I got my car, finally!
The overall experience was great except for the finance part. I had filled my info on the website as per dealer instructions. The salesman showed the car and went through the details. The finance guy tried to sell the extended warranties but I declined those.
The finance rates were very high even though my credit score as per their inquiry was 800+. He tried in a bank which had rates of 6.9%. I tried in my local credit union but it was closed with no more support. Ford rates were close to 5.9%. The bank gave 4.9% after some discussion. It is still bad and I will try to refinance after 3 months. Going by the rate increase by Fed, maybe 4.9 will be a good rate in 3 months.

However, I was X-Plan so I don't know if that changes things?

That is right. I asked him about getting the rates for date when I booked the car(12/21/2021) but he said that it is not possible. Maybe X-plan made that difference. Congrats on an excellent rate! I paid 40% as downpayment anyways. Maybe better option for me will be to finish the loan asap.

Also, I dodged a bullet because my Mach E is freaking amazing. Like, my car was always just a car before. It got me from point A to point B, and that was it. With this car, I am proud to own it and proud to drive it. Its a dream car. And I didn't have to spend $100k to make it a dream car

Time to call this thread good! I just took delivery of my Premium IBSM. The buying process was a piece of cake and everything was ready when I got there. All prices protection and xplan in place.
The Kansas City guy was officially the last one in the group to take delivery. It’s been fun, and now it’s time to enjoy this amazing car.
