I've been without my Mach-E GT for 49 days due to the HVBJB meltdown and have had it with Ford on this car. I've posted the details in another thread if you're interested... I'm formally putting Ford on notice that I will initiate the lemon law procedures here in NY state within seven business days.

Anyone know what Ford does with the cars once they are lemons? I've heard the car gets a salvage title or equivalent to protect other consumers so the dealers won't touch them and the car has to be sold at auction and potentially looses a lot of value.

Can anyone verify? Thanks!

Your car is still not fixed? That's insane. Get Ford to initiate a buyback. They do that so that the car doesn't get a lemon title, and can get you priority on a new one if you want it.

Did you contact the BEV team? Ford also generally pays for your finance payment after 30 days without your car, but you have an incompetent dealer if your car isn't fixed yet.

Ha! That's probably the understatement of the year! The dealer finally brought in someone who works regionally but its too late as far as I'm concerned.

Funny. I told my customer experience rep to do just that and she relayed FoMoCo's response was that I would receive an offer when my car is fixed. They appear to have the whole situation bass-ackwards.

Everyone involved gets a certified letter Monday (tomorrow) informing them of their responsibilities under the lemon law and directing them to provide an offer in 5 business days.

What aholes. Check out the BBB they apparently have a good process for lemon law cases with manufacturers that gets their attention. Have you had folks on our forum try to poke the repair process along?

Even if you lemon the car you have to get another one and that is costly! My car with the redesigned part is running great, so I wonder whether applying pressure to get it fixed might be the most logical way forward.

Not trying to dissuade you in any way. The HVBJB is a Ford issue but the lack of service seems like a dealer issue. As @scoopman posted, if you plan to get another it may be better, financially, to work with Ford to get this fixed. If moving on to another brand then forget this advice.

I appreciate that. I'm concerned that with towing and rough treatment on the lot, the car may have more issues down the road and is no longer worth the price I paid for it. I would be willing to keep it if were fixed and a significant settlement agreement could be reached.

understandable thoughts -- do you know what else is wrong with the car from dealer mistreatment? you might want to document this as part of your case to help force the outcome you want.
