this field obviously means something but we don't really know what, do we? considering this information is "hidden" from the normal customer view, I can understand Ford not feeling the need to tell us, and it's possible we are reading way too much into it? I dunno. The OTA thing is still being sorted out enough that I don't know if it makes sense to put any real stock into it? ???

My guess is that it only means something internally to Ford. As far as we can tell 2.3.0 didn't do anything that government regulations would have any bearing on.

stays up for way too short a time (it really should wait for me to "OK" it TBH), and the bug of showing the charging balance as "USD" instead of "kWh" is just bizarre.

the State of Charge is also weird. I don't know what it's trying to say there.

had a new thing come up and thought I would share.

My driver's side front door started to make a clicking sound, first once at the full open position, then twice, then at three spots.

I brought it in and my salesguy and the Service Manager both immediately diagnosed it based on experience as a short bar that runs through the middle of the door. One warranty repair later, and yup...

here's the service writeup text with the replaced part number:

Yup, lots of apps are pinging the car/server relentlessly. And while some say they are for charging metrics they are actually building huge databases of vehicle data and selling them

my hope is that the new developer program will eventually get to where there's a proper path for this stuff with granular permissions, etc. but having dealt with such things and regularly communicating with developers doing such things, I know that's a large effort.

While I appreciate the sentiment, Ford should have locked this down many years ago. Our Ford.com credentials provide access to (limited) payment information, some bank information with Ford Credit, personal addresses, vehicle location, remote unlock, etc.

This is why I was definitely uninterested in signing up for Recurrent.
