As a follow up...

I was just contacted by Santos Ford in Los Banos and apparently Ford Corporate wants the car towed to my local dealership. So they've been told not to work on it and a tow will bring it up here somewhere.

Wow, first on I’m hearing about that’s getting towed out of the dealer near the break-down site and delivered to a dealer closer to the owner. Awesome, Todd! I bope they get it to your dealer safely and quickly. ??

So we've now moved on to the "which tow points" test...

BTW, feel better soon. I had it back in June and it knocked me out for a while.

I have all the appropriate stickers under the car so hopefully they see those.

Have you been following the Rivian forum? I have since before I joined this forum. Now that people have their R1T vehicles, there are lots of complaints, similar to what is posted about the MME. Complaints about PaaK not working. Complaints about poor service when there is a problem. I saw a post from someone who got the equivalent of Stop Safely Now. And complaints about exterior fit and finish. Vampire HVB drain. And Tonneau covers are breaking all over the place.

Anyway, I am a Rivian fan, and a MME fan. I just hope you don't think the quality of your Rivian is going to be better than your MME. You may be disappointed. Or maybe not, if you get a good one. Like my MME. It has been great.
yes, i just read this one (for example) and am stunned. Hoping for things to improve before my VIN gets assigned

Professor John Kelly clearly shows here that unless the shop has these special adapters for Mach-E, then can't use just any lift.

I can't publicly say why it is being towed yet, but it's not completely because of a lack of tools. As time progresses I'm sure I'll be able to say more.

They probably will. Rivian is trying to focus on quality, but it is hard to get everything right with such a complicated product.

While I definitely don't think we should let Ford off the hook, they are doing a very hard thing and generally doing it very, very well. Especially compared with the competition. And while some dealers are horrible, many are not. You just need to stay away from the horrible ones, and then your experience will likely be better than dealing directly with the manufacturer. IMO.

Well then that should be everyone in a couple months ?
Oh wait! Next question in the failure analysis tree: has the issue been observed in any JOB 1 cars (cars without a remote frunk release ?)?
