I’m not sure about the ‘22 GT, but the estimated range for a ‘21 Premium with a standard range battery was about 230 miles.

What battery is in your GT? Sounds like an SR which makes your 210 GOM accurate based on a fast driving pattern.

Is anyone else having issues with deficient range at 100% charge?

I have a 2022 Mach E GT (stnd, not performance) and at 100% charge I have a max range of 215 (which is the best I've ever gotten; 200-205 is more typical). I live in San Diego so weather is not a factor. The local Ford dealer tried to tell me that was realistic because of driving behavior, but I know that's BS because this is my 2nd Mach E — I had a 2021 Premium 4X for 7mo. before a teenager in a truck hit me and ran me off the road and head-on into a concrete barrier (I walked away unhurt because of the excellent safety tech). The 2021 always showed btwn 260-270 max range at full charge.

I drove the car from San Diego to Phoenix last week and because the EA station in Dateland AZ was unexpectedly down (I checked the app the day before) I ran out of charge and had to be towed. If the car was giving me the full expected range it would have made it from Yuma to Phoenix.

I am beginning to wonder if it's a bad battery since the local dealer has already looked at it once since I bought it (last April). California has strict lemon laws, so if it is a bad battery I might have to go that route (which I don't want to do). I am in love with this car but for $65k it should be getting the full range promised.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

Daniel

It is supposed to be more realistic based on your driving behavior.

I have a 21 GTPE. I’m also in early access for the “more accurate GOM.” And for the last few months my displayed range is HORRIBLE. And this is summer in Florida.

But honestly? I believe it. My commute is 1 Mile to work and half the time it’s at a stoplight or in a parking lot.

Here is my current range at 90%:
159 miles. Before the early access change, it usually was 230 or so in the winter.

Well, thanks for your insight. As I stated, I've owned TWO Mach Es and have driven them exactly the same. The range performance is in this case is not tied to speed. One car performed exactly as advertised; this one does not. I, however, remain the same.

What is your average mi/kWh? If it’s over 3.0 then there is something wrong with your battery. If it’s 2.0 or something like that then it’s your joyful exuberance giving you those 215 miles of range.

My new GT is getting me the advertised 280 miles and I am driving 3.1 mi/kWh on average over the first 1k miles I have owned it.

LOL
Dateland again with the date shakes where I bricked one of my E ponies
If you’re not rolling past there above 80 mph, you’re not actually human. You have to it’s ….one of the most heinous places on any Highway anywhere
It’s like Iraq.
Except they make thick gross milkshakes out of the debris that most of us ask our lawn guys to take away from our palm trees. Would not consider eating it.

I would drive it for a few more months since you own it and I bet you your guess o meter will improve when you stop going near Dateland and pressing hard on the long right pedal to get away from it.

Using premium electricity?
I wonder about random gangs siphoning electrons directly from the charge port. Directly from my soon to be recalled battery pack. Like we used to do with a rubber tube and gasoline. Those criminals will figure out a way to do it.
Jes sayin. Lol. Not

edit. Corollary. Could a lightning 150 pull up on a mustang Mach E and siphon electricity from it or vice versa. Something to add to range anxiety lol.

I’ve never had an issue charging in Dateland before last week. Again, I checked the EA site the day before and there was no mention of a closure. And why EVERY stall? EA should do better.

That aside, I still should have been able to go from Yuma to Phoenix on one charge. And BlueCruise did all the driving at or below the posted speed limit so it’s more than a bad GOM; the battery doesn’t hold enough charge.

I probably drive through Dateland round-trip 30 times a year. I have one bit of advice. Don’t count on it ever. It’s the end of the trail for deliveries and service. When things get broken and go wrong, they get help but they get it last. That’s after the teenager remembers to call in two days after he’s notified it’s broken.

it might be worse in Quartzsite or Baker.
It’s it’s still the twilight zone in the California desert
Freaking death Valley flooded last week and washed away 30 fantastic cars from rich people staying at the resort there
Never trust the distant creepy desert

Please answer the questions about efficiency. Without the answers to those questions we are all just guessing. ??

215 miles at 100% charge is very normal for my 22 Premium standard range AWD. I do a lot of highway driving and it has been hot as hell in Maryland until a few days ago, but even in spring it was about that. You were getting 260 or 270 in your std range 2021? That is well above EPA rated range.

You have owned two different Mach Es.

Your 21 likely didn’t have the new “more accurate GOM.”

You keep saying it’s not “performing as advertised.”

How far exactly was it you went when you got towed? Speed, temp, charge etc?

And fwiw, the “advertised range” is NOT like an ICE. It’s worse at highway speeds.

It is possible your battery is bad. But unfortunately warranty is only at 70% capacity. You’re not there.

Thanks. The 2021 was a Premium 4X and it drove perfectly from the start. Range was always within 260-270 at 100%. Perhaps it's the GT that is the difference but it is still rated the same as the non-GT for AWD range. Thank god for the safety package on the 2021 too. It definitely saved me.

I'm glad that the safety features prevented injury! That's good to know.

It would also be good to know what your miles per kWh are so we'll know where the issue lies...
