Interesting article in ars Technica about a promising new battery technology using aluminum-sulfur. While it will clearly take time to commercialize and even longer to get into EVs, the technology has some very interesting properties, including very fast charging. Not to suggest that there won't be issues with producing it in mass quantities... Obviously the devil will be in the details.

Yeah, I've been reading articles about amazing technology being right around the corner for the last 25+yrs.

This might be better suited by industrial and fixed position applications because of the 90 deg thing.

Still could be a win for EVs though because that would ease the supply crunch on rare metals like lithium, etc required to make current batteries.
