Has anyone actually seen recall posted by going to NHTSA and looking up their VIN?
So my MME Premium Ext range was built (allegedly) the week of July 18/25. It was supposed to be delivered mid-August. It has now been delayed until mid-September. When I talked to the dealer, he said the car was in Jacksonville, FL (an hour from me) but that it had a "hold" on it; there was some sort of problem, he didn't know what, and that repairs were being made. SO, after checking the NHTSA website, my car is definitely one of the affected units. Better now than after I take delivery! (ordered in October, 2021).

I'm still uncertain if @GroovyMom entered her VIN and then found out the recall, or deduced it from something else on NHTSA website. It seems a few other folks on the thread are also confused. @GroovyMom could you confirm?

I looked up by VIN and mine came back as subject to the recall. Doesn’t mean it definitely has the bad part, but… bummer.

Now I'm just wondering how many manufacturing problems occur due to Chinese New Year lol
I tend to believe "Chinese New Year" is an offshore suppliers euphemism for "let's improve our margins by passing of sub standard junk on purpose". Oopppsy.

I also put my VIN into the website and my MME GT also has the recall. Does anyone know how long the repairs may take or if they’ll need to send it to a new location to get repaired? I’m anticipating a longer delay in getting my MME..

Built 7/27

The dealer will inspect the affected parts to see if they are defective. I believe they make that determination by lot number or serial number on the part itself. If defective, the part will need to be replaced. I presume Ford will only send out replacement parts in response to proven defective parts, so there will be shipment time involved.

Sorry your car has been caught up in this!

hmmm. Mine was built July 15th. Looks the problem started July 18th... anyway, my vehicle was supposed to be delivered by Aug 15, then I got a last minute update on Aug 15 saying the date was pushed to Sep 15th. I don't know if this was due to a issue with the vehicle, or just a shipping logistics issue (?)... the Ford web site says no recall issues with my VIN

Yep - July 18 build. Which also explains why my car didn't show up last week as scheduled.

Yes, I have. In May, my 2014 Fusion Hybrid failed to shift from park, so I diagnosed that the brake switch was bad, and I entered the NHTSA site with my VIN to search for any recalls. It had a new recall for the brake switch which can fail. The brake switch has dual function, first to turn on the rear brake lights, and second to allow the shift from park "P". I jumpered the switch to act as if the brake pedal was pressed and I could drive it. But the brake lights would be on at all times, confusing whoever followed me. And the cruise controls will not operate.

I asked the dealer about the recall and they did not received any notification, but the repair would cost me over $400 for parts and labor. Since that brake switch is common for most Ford products, I bought it at eBay for $35 and fixed it myself. There are many YouTube videos covering the Ford brake switch, mostly on the F-150 trucks, and swapping it is simple. I am still waiting for the dealer to notify me, and probably refund the $35 I paid to do the fix ahead of them.

Actually if you read the details of the NHTSA report apparently they set up the lathe wrong, and it ended up taking off more material than it was supposed to. The supplier made about 5k parts before they caught it, but had already shipped out 500. Those 500 were installed during the build week in question, but ford doesn't track it to the vehicle. Just the build week. So of 1100 or so cars "affected" only 500 of them will need the change. The rest are good.

I see this kind of recall as a good thing. The supply chain is working, they figured it out internally, and they came forward before a customer complained. I wish the HVBJB issue seemed as transparent. That was a cluster because I think ford had a known design flaw (can anyone say 5 seconds?) and they thought it would be a small # of cars that they would handle with warranty replacements.

But now too many people mash on the pedal, and they don't have any design latitude to fix it. It is still going to affect a small # of people (relatively speaking), but those people are going to be the ones that drive the car to the fullest and are loudest.

My MAch-e was built 7/27 and shows up as part of the recall on the NHTSA link, but we I check in the ford webiste it does not mention it to be part of any recall. ?

My new MME (purchased off the lot on 8/29) is on the NHTSA site for 22S55) but Ford doesn’t say anything as well. I’ve been trying to get ahold of a service dept to find out more, but they aren’t answering calls.
