Need some quick feedback!

Found a 2022 Mach E GT fully loaded
with glass roof
interior protection
and CoPilot 360

MSRP is 66,410

I've talked the dealer to 9k over, which is best I've found in CA, final price

75,410. Then I've got ford options at 3.9% with $2,000 ford rebate.
Since I can sign the paperwork today I'm also eligible for Fed Tax credit of 7,500

sooo

75,410 - 2000 - 7500 = $65, 910.

Few notes - I have the tax liability to take credit for the 7500. This also gets me a vehicle about 5k lower then next years GT for the same options and I get it today.

I need a gut check - I'm still giving a dealer 9k over MSRP which hurts my soul, but end of day seems like a good deal considering Tax credit loss, 2023 price increase, order delay.

What ya'll think?

update

I talked another dealer down to 5k over.. which puts the car at 61,410 after rebate and tax credit. I can sleep at night on that deal considering it's 9k cheaper then the GT with the same options at 2023 MSRP pricing and I get it today. excited to join the club!

If you want the car, have need for it sooner than later, and are okay with the price then you have your answer. People will rate it as terrible (any ADM = bad), or fair or good based on a value system that likely varies from yours. I’ve seen much worse deals. I’ve seen much, much better deals.

Interest rate is below what most credit unions offering so that’s slightly helpful.

Be sure you understand tax and EV credit rules and also don’t forget to look for state, local, and utility rebates.

Since you asked for a rating, I give it a 42.

What causes you to lose the tax credit next year?

Thanks for the feedback, I'm obviously conflicted and we're all in an odd spot where paying ADM can still result in an overall lower net price given next years situation.

While I've read all the posts and consumed all the media AND i test drove a GT awhile back --

Overall consensus is ya'll happy with your purchase? 75k is a chuck o change to not be completely satisfied at the end of the day.

Agreed 9k is steep. I talked them down from 10k, another dealer has 20k markup. I found a GTPE with 8k markup, but net price is still higher. The markup is where most of my hesitation lies.

Federal tax credit next year is uncertain. I likely will also be over any income caps.

Guessing based on Cali, super easy to hit over 150k income for individual...300k for joint filers is a smaller group, but again....Cali.

I would pass this. If people are ok with 9K ADM dealers will start asking for more ADM.

if you buy at MSRP 66,410 - 7500 = 58,910 (assuming you will not get ford rebate )

It is really up to you and no one else as to whether it is a good deal. Giving the ADM to the dealer sucks but the car will be close to the current ADM price with the new MSRP and there is no guarantee there will not be an equal ADM unless you order it. Another factor would be how much you drive and how much savings that would provide. I do not drive that much but I roughly calculated $300 a month savings. No wrong decision here - just up to you and your finances. 2022 GT, Jan build, 7k miles, no issues ( yet but HVBJB demon lurks), wife loves the car

Check the build date.
Just saying, for the HVBJB issue.

There are two or three GT’s on a local lot, here in Clearwater, FL. All with $10k+ ADM. All built before the HVBJB fix.

What's the alternative? You order the same car, wait 9 months, and pay more? That sounds like the worst plan.

You could keep looking for something without ADM whether it be a MME or something else.

I don't get the hate for ADM when it comes to cars that the dealer ordered. Don't want it? Don't buy it.

I wouldn't buy it, but that's just me.

It was built in June so fixed HVJB!

The alternative is order one for MSRP and pay more than this deal with adm and. wait several months.

OR don't get a MachE at all and buy an old leaf.

It seems to be that whether I'm paying ADM or paying price increase to Ford, either way the cost comes down to less on this deal... but it still feels bad.

I dont know about California, but here in WA state I always forget about sales tax. Since Ford Options is a "purchase" that's structured like a lease I had to roll the 10% vehicle tax into the equation which changed my out the door price back in May when I got mine. Considering all that for my '22 GTPE fully loaded I ended up at $70k (ford options 1.4% 48mo). Then I will get the $7500 tax credit in 2023 for 2022.
