If you are above the income threshold for next year then get it.
Evaluate your situation now, you can get this car today for $65k net 3.9% and 2K bonus or wait 9 months and get that very same car for $71K assuming you will buy that at MSRP anyway!

I am not sure what's there do debate about here with the information we have on hand!

I feel like 9k is steep, too steep imo. There are still dealers out there that are doing much lower ADM's you just have to be willing to search adjacent states. If you want to use the tax credit as net logic then I wouldn't pay any dealer more than a $7500 adm. At 9k you are giving the dealer your tax credit and an extra $1500 out of pocket.

doesn't take that long to order a GT probably half the time of ER AWD

I think whether it is the color you want should also factor here. If you are thinking of paying ADM, it should be exactly what you want.

It's the exact color and options I would want.

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I realize I'm being annoyingly indecisive, but trying to check myself whether this makes sense or "makes sense" relative to how bad the market is and higher priced adms.

I appreciate the conversation though.

I might spend some time exploring the GTPE you said had 8k adm. Magneride is worth the upcharge imo, and maybe you can work them down to 5k adm or something.

Paying ADM is a huge risk, could basically be dead money. The current supply shortages are not going to last forever and the number of new EVs hitting the market in the next 2-3 years will impact resale prices significantly.

We ended up paying $8500 ADM on ours last weekend. Our car was totaled so we needed something to replace it fast. We were going to order a MY 23, but the dealer was going to add $5k ADM to our order. that seems to be the norm here on Long Island.

If you like the car, plan on keeping the car so the ADM doesn't mean much, and NEED the car, then get the car.

years ago I said: " I'll be damned if I ever pay sticker for a car" this year bought a couple at sticker and was happy.
I do draw the line with ADM: I won't pay ADM unless I absolutely have no other options, at that point I rather just keep driving my old/existing car if that is an option.

The only hesitation I'd have is the new BlueCruise coming to 2023's, but hopefully '21s and '22s get it as well. If you're fine with that, then it really sounds like a no brainer. It is straight numbers. Too many people are "oh no, ADM, just run!" clearly, numbers aren't their strong suit.

It really comes down to how long you think you'll keep the car because the only bad thing effecting this would be depreciation. If you plan to SELL the car in a couple of years, if the market turns the other way, the 2023 will be worth more than the 2022, even though they'd be the exact same car. If you don't care about this, are planning to turn it in at the end of the Options term, or think the price savings, counting ADM and fed rebate you're getting, would offset THAT depreciation, then do it. 100000%

But definitely keep trying to get the ADM down, I would try and shoot for $5k, should have a fair shot at that. I'd put in crazy work trying to get the GTPE over the GTs. I'd be in there pushing to get the ADM down haha

MY23 GT comes with Panoramic roof standard, while 2022 did not. Otherwise, they are identical.

Or, all car prices go up another 10-15% over the next year (like they did this year) which is nearly certain in which case it's a wash. Producer costs are not going to retreat from their current pace of 8.5% any time soon.

Sorry, the $65K car of today will be in the mid 70's by the end of next year.

Yeah, if it's exactly what you want, you get it now instead of waiting for an order, you lose the possibility of the tax credit next year because of income caps but qualify for the full $7,500 this year, it seems like a decent deal to me.

I do wonder if they might budge a bit more off that ADM regardless of what they say.

One of the reasons that I won't be turning in my 2021 GT-PE for a 2023 or newer. I wanted the metal roof. ??
