My GT has turned up, and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. I would appreciate some assistance, though… could someone point me in the direction of the setting that stops the car from sounding the horn when I wander off with the key when the car is ”running”? According to the manual, and some US threads, there’s a supposed to be a section called Walk Away Lock under Vehicle, but I don’t have that?

Yes, if you’re feeling brave, you can download FORScan and get a free two-month extended license. Connect your Mach-E to an OBD2 connector that works with FORScan, and you can change the programming for the double-honk when exiting the cabin. There’s no way to turn it off from the SYNC panel alone, unfortunately.

If you’re interested, there are a few threads here that will teach you how to turn it off with FORScan, but that’s the general procedure. Here’s the one you want: https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...le-honk-with-mach-e-running-in-forscan.11374/

Once you have the pieces you need and the software installed on the laptop, this is like a 10 minute job entirely. The actual programming step is like three minutes; the rest is just getting set-up and tearing down.

I think I mentioned this in another thread but unlike the Mach-E the Lightning does indeed have a setting for turning that off from within Sync. Link here.

Since the Mach-E and Lightnings now share pretty much the same software branches of Sync I don't know why Ford hasn't enabled that same feature int he Mach-E. It's obviously not that hard if they have that on every Lightning that's been produced. Hopefully @Ford Motor Company might see this and pass it on to the rest of the team as a suggestion.

Walk away lock is to lock the vehicle, not leave it running and not honk when you walk away.

We, in UK, don't have walk away lock just as we don't have PAAK. The only way you can stop the horn going off when you exit the vehicle and shut the door is either leave the door open OR leave the key in the car when you shut the door. It's a security thing for obvious reasons.

Sorry what is the obvious reason, did I miss something?

there are plenty of situations where i want to leave the car unlocked while the car is still on and the beep is extremely annoying. I would love ti be able to tur this off

Or turn it off with FORScan.
