Looks like 3.5.4 has been replaced with 3.5.4.2. Same modules updated (Telematics Control Unit). I could tell it was incoming when my PaaK was dead last evening.
Heh, FDRS shows my TCU as being downrev. I guess I have to wait for 3.5.4.2 or buy another FDRS license when I get my new power supply. ??

I have had this for a good amount of time now... it 100% fixed my CarPlay issue, not sure how... but it did. I know longer get in and it randomly doesn't connect (which was almost all the time). I did nothing different after this OTA, it just made it start working.

One odd thing though, is now it randomly allows Bluetooth AND CarPlay to have an active connection with my phone. Which is really annoying as I get double chimes for texts, phone calls, etc. It has only happened twice, but really crazy.

@Mach-Lee is that even possible being only a TCU update?
Yeah I think it was another TCU update when I looked. I think the TCU is used for the WiFi connection.

I have not gotten 3.5.4.2, seems like it’s only for 2021 MY?

Ah, you don't say, so Mr. @generaltso looks like CarPlay CAN be fixed with the TCU update, mahahahaha.

I wonder if it fixes the profile bug people experienced or CarPlay connectivity issues, both issues I had.
Those don't seem like things that would be fixed with a TCU update.
Appears to be 2021s, haven't seen any 2022s report having it yet.

Do you really think that's a good thing?

I would prefer to see the updates stop, or slow down to maybe one solid update each year. Stability is good.
updates stop is a good idea? absolutely not. If I wanted a time capsule I'd buy another ICE car.

Can Ford improve its regression testing... yeah, it has a long way to go.

once a year is way too long, but at least when they release them they shouldn’t break anything else.

What frequency would you like best? Weekly? Monthly?

I suppose to me it depends on what we get. At this point, it seems to be Netflix and Alexa - I would be happy to wait two years for crap like that.

Agree they should not break stuff. Less frequent updates should mean better regression testing.

I don’t really know but something that is worthwhile, not Netflix, and it works?

no one likes software updates of any kind from anyone that break things. Least of all a car that runs 60k + and you spend a lot of time in.

I am Not a software guy so can’t comment on timing but I will ask my son how he handles them for his company, he’s the software expert in my family.

Just received this morning, nothing noticeable. I checked FDRS yesterday and had no available updates after doing the TCU update myself a couple of weeks ago.

I wonder if this is prepping for the UI overhaul or BC 1.2?!?!

Hmm, haven't got this one queued up yet, I'm actually losing track with all these 4 decimal updates lol

My biggest take on PowerUp v.3.5.4.2 is the re-introduction of the "SAVED PLACE" tap after you click on "WHERE TO?" in the Nav. All the places which I had saved after clicking on the "Star" icon has magically re-appeared under "SAVED PLACE". On previous versions it was buried and you had to go back and forth to get the "SAVED PLACE' tab. I use a lot of the Nav since I can send it to the car under "Trip Planner"'s new trip plan, and after navigating if it is worthwhile saving then I can save under "SAVED PLACE"... not bad at all.

If by "time capsule" do you mean when stuff worked in my car? If so, then sign me up. :)

I look fondly back to the days when preferred off center lane tracking was a functional part of Lane Centering. Also miss the days when my front camera and pre-collision assist feature was reliable. Driver Profiles was a great feature to have. Also was pretty cool when I was able to choose a mobile phone and make it the favorite so it would always have priority over any other previously paired phone. That last one I REALLY miss.

Remember when we could edit charge and departure times in FordPass and then sync it with the car? That was pretty cool.

One of the more meaningless improvements is now I have to wait for my lift gate to fully close before it will let any of the passenger doors unlock. Why did Ford make that change? Were there people asking for that feature?

There is a button for that. Turn off "Automatic Updates" and then it will ask you each time.
It used to look like this, where the only choice was "Accept" ....

But now it looks like this, where you can say "Not Now".
Unfortunately it doesn't make the little icon at the top left go away. Been there for a week and a half now. I am hoping this OTA times out soon and just disappears. Finders crossed.
