Can anyone help me with a feature that I think is missing from my Mach e?

I bought a Mach e ER RWD with tech pack back in February 2022. The car was built in April 2022 and delivered in September 2022. I'm 99% certain the car should have the advanced parking system where it will park itself but it doesn’t. I have the parking button on the centre console but that only brings up local car parks on the map. I've been to the dealer about this and no one can give me a definitive answer as to whether the car should have it or not. I know I probably won't use the feature very much but if I’ve paid for it and its missing I'd like to have it. Does anyone have this on their car with the same spec as mine?

This feature was removed from the feature set, presumable due to chip shortages. The parking assist should have been installed and there should be a $325 credit (if memory serves)on your window sticker. When the "chip" is available you can take the car to the dealer to be installed for some yet undisclosed price.

My car is missing this feature as well. Same reason as listed above. Signed a form to that effect on delivery. Its not something I'd use... but that doesn't mean I won't be demanding it arrives in good time.

My car isn’t missing the feature, built in Dec 2021 and it doesn’t work. I have tried a couple of times, so either I am doing it wrong, which is possible or it just doesn’t work at times. A few other people have mentioned the same thing

When it is available, you'll be paying around that $325 figure to get it installed.

I find that many people simply don't understand how to use it. It's worked every time we've tried it, which is rare. My main reason for not using it is this - for perpendicular parking, it parks you next to a car. If I'm in a parking lot, I park away from cars not next to them

Second reason for not using it - with the 360 degree camera, you can see everything. Parallel parking is a breeze. No aid is needed.

Last reason - I find that it takes too many steps for many people to REMEMBER. My wife will never use it because even if it was written down she'd not do it right.

Although usually I am pretty savvy with this stuff I guess I am in your wife’s class on this feature or maybe, ah doesn’t matter, I don’t feel comfortable using it anyway and as you said I can still parallel park for the moment

Has Ford said this?
They have not quoted a price, because that will be up to the dealer. That's why I said "about". If it was going to be $50, they wouldn't have deducted $325. If it was going to be $800, same.

They did say:

Active Park Assist Prep Kit - enables the Active Park Assist 2.0 feature to be purchased and installed by your Ford Dealer at a later date. (Note: the module post-purchase price including installation is under investigation along with the estimated timing for when parts will be available). All vehicles with the Active Park Assist Prep Kit will receive $325 credit and will be reflected on the window sticker for the removal of Active Park Assist 2.0. This is reflected on the window label as "ACTIVE PARK ASSIST PREP KIT".

While everyone is trying to be super helpful to the OP - the vast majority of responses are not going to be wholly relevant as the OP is talking about a UK specification vehicle not a US one.

The UK vehicles did retain some of the features that were deleted from the US specification for longer into the 2022 build schedules. This is because the RHD models are batch built rather than being individual orders. They are then allocated from the batch to customers.

For what it's worth my 2022 ER RWD was built in mid Feb 2022 still had hands free trunk and active park assist included - although nobody at Ford was able to say what features might be included or excluded before delivery - even though they were on the UK 2022 spec sheet.

I literally found out what it had the day it was unloaded off the trailer. I did initially think IPA was missing off mine, but it turned out that was just user error!

@BigG’s Mach e - Do you have the hands-free boot and power fold mirrors on your vehicle? Just wondering if you have the "Tech Pack +" option on your vehicle as they became an option the 2022's whereas on the 2021's it was included with all ER models.

*Extra note: I just checked the Spec sheet history - IPA and hands free boot options were not removed from the Tech Pack + part of the spec sheet until July 22.

Until Ford makes a statement more specific than the cost being "under investigation", I wouldn't assume anything. The $325 credit may have been the difference between an original $1325 part and a substitute $1000 part. That doesn't necessarily meant that they'll later install a $1325 part for $325. It may very well end up only being $325, but I don't think that's a given.

Interesting to hear similar issues with US cars as well as I certainly haven't received a $325 or similar credit on my car. In fact, the car went up in value by over ÂŁ7000 between ordering the car and receiving it. Thankfully my finance deal was organised and signed off in February 2022 and not when I got the car in September 2022.

@Wonkey_Donkey, many thanks for the information on your similar spec'd UK car. Yes, I do have the hands-free boot and folding mirrors, I also have the B&O speaker system, 360deg cameras and panoramic roof. My car was built in April 2022 and when I was in with the dealer for updates the other day they showed me the car has "advanced parking system ready" and this needs to be added to the car at a later date? They also confirmed the advanced parking system from removed from the option list for cars built after July 2022.

I've got it on mine but I have NEVER used it. I can park my car a lot quicker than the car can park itself. I also had it on my old Kuga (x2) but never used them either. If you really, really want it, then you can have mine. ? ?

How would we know that it is available? Will there be a Ford announcement (yeah right?!) or?

I saw this on the new 2023 so it’s advertised as an option again
