What cutoff value do you use?
I currently have it set to 12.5v, but checking the Android Mach-e widget (from another thread), I've never seen it drop below 13v.

Oh interesting! Do you have a link to which one you got or recommended capacity? The battery pack that cams sells are $200+
i just happened to have 2x 50,000 mAh ones from walmart or whatever. i'll note these super high capacity ones are often fake, mine in fact is likely fake, so obviously just buy as high as you can without it being fake haha. i got mine for like $10 each hence why i know it's not real :p

it's the same logic as the branded one, but if they're cheap you can just keep swapping it easily

Awesome thanks! Btw, the other thread makes it seem like Android widget is also causing access to get blocked but there's some confusion in it and maybe the widget is okay (since it uses the app and not the API?). Did you look into it?

No, I'll have to check the thread again. So far I haven't had any issues and I've had the widget installed for a few months at least.

So how does the install look with this? Do you have the camera powered by ACC and this battery acts as a UPS type of backup so when ACC is off it starts drawing from the portable battery pack you have this wired to?

i have it wired as USB, cable runs along passenger side A pillar, under the glove compartment

when i'm on a long driving trip i just plug the USB into the usb port of the car console. if i'm parked for a long time [in a public area] i plug the USB into one of the battery packs i have in the glove compartment.

you can also run a USB from the battery pack to the console to have it recharge while you drive, obviously.... ultimately it depends on your driving and parking habits

So it's hard for me to connect to the dash cam Wi-Fi from the car when the car is on because Android Auto is aggressive and takes over the Wi-Fi connection.
The only way I found is to disable Android auto temporarily but enabling it is a little bit of a pain cuz you have to go to settings and then you have to essentially reestablish the connection since it doesn't reconnect it automatically.

Is there an easier way to connect to the Wi-Fi of the dash cam? Even though I have parking mode enabled, the Wi-Fi hotspot doesn't stay on when the car is off.
Another option would be to use a different phone that doesn't have Android auto on it.

I think the same problem exists for carplay I assume and I know this has been discussed before but I cannot find it in search.

This is the same problem Wireless CarPlay has. I just disable Bluetooth when I want to access my camera’s WiFi. Pretty sure Wireless AA will not connect if BT is disabled. Just re-enable BT when you’re done. ??
