Hello,

My wife works at a ford dealer and the owner recently turned in his 2021 MME GT with 6k miles. He offered this car to my wife for around 46k (52-53k) OTD. I've read about all the recalls and HVBJB issue. It this a good price point for this car? Is the HVBJB issue a one and done fix or is it going to be a on going issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That's still a great deal, assuming it hasn't been in an accident. It's still under warranty.

Grab it at that price and if it doesn't work out resell it and probably make some money or for sure lose none

We were more worried about the HVBJB issue and if it is a problem we constantly have to deal with or does the fix resolve the HVBJB completely. From the thread i read the HVBJB issue on the GT trim is only a matter of time.

Unless the car has had its HVBJB replaced in the last 5 months, it is still subject to a failure of the original part. Many cars have not failed theirs, but an alarming minority of the cars have. Some of them multiple times. The car is under warranty, and if it should fail the part will be replaced under warranty. It's not a constant source of pain. If it blows, it blows. Then you get it replaced with the new, beefier part. ?‍♂?

This is a really good deal on the car. I would say not to worry about the HVBJB and go for it (provided your wife likes the car). ??

We have a ’21 with 8000 miles. No problems so far. Does this car have the hvbjb safetyupdate done? Ask for all the dealer records So you know the history of it.

other than that, it’s a great deal. I love my GTPE, one Heck of a car! I’d feel better owning a ‘23, but the price is out of the park.

and the $7500 federal tax credit potential
Would the tax credit apply for a used car? it would be considered as a first sale new to Ford but DMV would be used car sale.

My wife pulled the service history no mention of any recalls or the HVBJB replacement. it was made in August of 2021. Is there any where i can punch in the VIN to see if the recalls are required on this car? (window adhesive recall)

I would say it is a good deal if you are in the market for a MME GT. The market price is around 60K for similar GTs. If it was me I would definitely take it provided the car history is clean and the car itself has no damage. If the HVBJB fails, just get it replaced. If you work for a ford dealer, probably much easier to get a loaner vehicle/rental while it is under repair.

A Select with BC before price increases was more expensive than $46k. The owner is very generous.
