Yes, the engineers have been on holiday break and all OTAs and fixes have been on hold. They return tomorrow. Yes you need to wait a week or two and see what happens.

Do not let those idiots tear your car apart, this is not a hardware issue. You need to be patient and wait for the update to come to your car or a solution specific to 2023s. I don't care what Ford customer service tells you on the phone, updates are on hold at the moment. Please wait until Jan 15th before doing anything further.
I really appreciate the advice and will wait for an official fix before I let anyone attempt hardware troubleshooting. I was skeptical that it was a hardware issue since my car can communicate with Ford Pass. The wireless modem is functioning.

Took delivery of my 23 around mid-December. BC did not work until abt 2 weeks later. Just started working and didn't do anything special; no OTA or updated maps.

Another interesting thing: In Ford Pass App - Maps, the BC highways are now blue and very distinguished looking when you blow them up. In my 21, they were red.

I find it super annoying that there are so many of us who have picked up our new cars from the dealership in the last couple of weeks with expired maps. You would think that when they are prepping it and making sure it has the latest updates, they would check the map expiration date and update those, as well. To have to wait several days for it to "fix itself" or potentially have to take it back to the dealership (and wait days to weeks for an appointment) is a really bad form on a brand new car with a feature that we are paying extra for and is now a subscription.

I just called for mine and they said an OTA is coming for a bunch of them soon, and that they would be starting on 22s first, then to 23s, so we are kinda at the end of the line. The rep I spoke to sounded like she knew what she was talking about so I don’t doubt we will get the update OTA, just dont know when.

Ford support told me to take to dealer after the OTA update did not go through to update the maps. The dealer was not able to update and now I have connectivity errors in Ford Pass and still no updated maps. I spent over two hours on the phone with Ford connected services support and Ford Pass support and still no resolution other than “bring back to dealer.” My car is only a week old.

Has anyone has this successfully updated at the dealer? I scheduled an appointment for Thursday afternoon, but now I’m a bit worried and might hold off.

The woman I spoke to said it was not yet available to dealers either, which someone else had also mentioned in another thread.

Weird. I called mine and they said they had it last week. Not a good sign on my part. Maybe I’ll hold off.

Update: I cancelled my appointment. I'll give it a few weeks to see if an OTA update comes and fixes it.

I would definitely hold off until you have confirmation there is a solution. I have additional issues because a dealer fix was attempted.

All these new issues that were not present before taking to the dealer:

  1. Ford connectivity will not enable in Ford Pass. Just get "Please update in-vehicle settings to enable connectivity" error.
  2. On car, I can not expand sub menu for "Connected Vehicle Features." It just has a progress screen, then just returns. There is not way to reset any of the sub menus to re-enable connectivity to Ford Pass.
  3. PAAK key is no longer working, vehicle location no longer displayed in Ford Pass, charging status no longer updated in Ford Pass.
  4. The expiration for BlueOval has now gone blank. I'm not sure if BlueOval connected charge would even work now and I'm not even risking it.
Ford phone support has not been helpful with any of these issues. They want me to return car to dealer again.

Sorry to hear this. Mine's a 22 so I'm not sure if it would be a different fix than your 23, but I'm still going to be cautious on this. I'd like to use the feature I paid $1200 or whatever for, but I also don't want more trouble for something I don't 'need' right now.

This is a major update to TSB 22-2105 that adds much more detailed instructions for updating the GWM. This should improve dealer success rate with the updates. The related CSP 22P08 for the same issue was also updated recently and contains even more detailed instructions with photos.
Thanks for the informative post, Mach-Lee. I sent this info to my dealer. So, based on this, you think there is zero chance that my 22 GT maps will update without taking it in for the GWM update?

Dang guys...

My MY22 that I bought last week has an appointment in 1 HOUR for this year for this issue. Should I go?? Are all the problems with it messing the car up with the MY23's?

For those with the 23, be patient with BlueCruise. Had mine about 2 weeks with 600 miles before BC kicked on -- on its own.

If you read further up thread, there are a few folks who think Ford can fix this remotely, but you might need to contact Ford Advanced Technology support to get your car VIN listed for a special update.

That's what I was told by support, and some folks more knowledgeable than me seem to believe it. Time will tell, as I have not received the update yet, but I was told it could take up to 2 weeks and I only just reached out to them.

How do we connect with that team? I've got a '22 delivered in early December and had maps already expired. Everything else works fine, connectivity-wise.
