For those waiting on orders, what does the Model Y price drop to $52,990 make you think?

I think that's only in a straight line. I don't think I've ever seen anything really positive on anything that isn't straight, but folks can correct me if I'm off here.

Just too many for my taste and don't like the look neither.
My wife has MY P and it is breathtaking fast from a stop and just keeps going. I am not brave enough to see how hard it can corner. I prefer the Mach E as it feels more lively and you can get the tail happy. Having lived with both I would be really hard pressed to recommend the GT over the MY P with the recent price cuts. Keeping in mind the GT is the best car I've ever owned. So it is practically vs. passion IMO.

For me the price is not worth the Qaulity and looks for the Tesla Model Y.
If you see what Tesla did you will know this price drop was on the horizon.
2020 Model Y Long Range Price : 51,190
2021 Model Y Long Range Price, 60,440
2022 Model Y Long Range Price : 67,440
2023 Model Y Long Range Price: 54,630

That means Model Y Long is still higher price than 2020 Model Y Long Rage.

Basically Telsa increased the prices drastically around 32% increase and now they did a 20% decrease.

People looking price drop , they don't notice Tesla overpriced their vehicles all this time.

I am going still buy Ford MME !!

I don't think Tesla overpriced their cars. They priced it based on market condition. Hence they raise and lower their price, just more quickly they other auto manufacturers.. When the MY first came out it was 54k, but they lowered it to 51K 3 months after they started production.

"Ford" does the same thing, it's just called Dealer ADM.

I have a MYP and a GTPE. For the most part, I consider them a wash. Somethings, the Y does better, others the GTPE. Depends on what you deemed most important. But If the MY is 20k less, it's no contest.

Gee, now you have me second guessing my incoming Premium....

Hope Ford does not do a rebate or other cash back later if I take delivery this month...

BTW: Tesla's Model 3 RWD is super tempting (price wise).

As someone who sorta hates the Tesla look, this is really not a problem if that's also you. I can't stand looking at that blob of a mess so since Tesla was never an option for me and I'm not tempted, it's easy that I'd pick something else if something else was more desirable or just stick with my MME.

If I were a Ford dealer, I'd be thinking about how to rebuild trust with my customer base after treating customers like crap over the last year. IMHO the tables are turning.

I didn't buy a Ford to be friends with the dealer honestly. I just want my car at the price promised. That's it. For folks like me, there is nothing to rebuild and many dealerships still were ok with MSRP for ordered cars and also X/A/Z plans.

The MYP doesn't qualify for the tax credits still and looking at inventory, everything below $55k is more sold now.

I agree though that 2023 GTPE pricing at $80k+ after ttl maybe heading into Porsche territory is a tougher pill to swallow (for me at least).

I'd rather pay 100k and get the Porsche probably just for the name and it's a Porsche, but never owning one, maybe there are problems (since I hear Taycan has problems).

Will be curious when Macan EV is available.

I mean, many people did not get the price promised and had to deal with lying and unethical behavior. There are stories all over the place about this and they're bad enough that some of us just don't want to deal dealers at all. That's the broken trust that I'm describing.

say what?!
MY has the option of adding a 3rd row. But selecting that option, the IRS consider it a SUV vs. a Car. That moves the price cap to 80k. hence it would qualify for the tax credit.

For those looking at the $7500 tax credit, don't forget there's an income cap on it now.

If you get the MYP with 3rd row seat, then it qualifies for the tax credit.

I'm waiting for the Macan EV also. But having owned a Porsche before, just be prepare for the options menu. Nothing is included in the base car, I'm talking things that are standard on a corolla. And options are super expensive with porsche. ex. Color matching key fob is 500$.

please let us know how much they offer for your mach-e
2021, Select, 10months old, AWD, with comfort and tech in New England, 12k miles.

They offered $40k flat. My price to buy was 42k after rebates. So $5k out of pocket to be in a Y. Just drove one, nicer interior, but MME drove better and I prefer it in every way, except the 100 mile range difference.
