Question for those that are waiting on orders, or if you already have your car in hand....

Let's assume you are waiting on an order, that is taking longer than you expected - what would you do?

There is another question as to what if you bought another car right now, held it for a few months, and later swapped it for your custom ordered MME - but I did not want this to get too crazy.

If it's taking longer than YOU expected, then it's likely YOU have to reset your expectations. Anyone ordering in 2021 knew there were chip issues. Anyone ordering in late 2021 knew they hadn't been resolved.

We ordered 5/29, bought a cancelled order 7/2, and are still waiting for our "In Production" car to be completed and shipped. We're waiting.

Yeah but this won't stay this way forever right? There have been news articles saying Ford is going to make this a priority, news articles saying the supply chain issues are being fixed up or will be soon. The state of summer 2021 will not last forever. My dealer said 6-10 months might be something to plan on.... but what if it takes 14 months?

Waiting but I'll probably start looking around a little. I have time to wait and don't plan on paying ADM. If I find another Mach E, EV6, ioniq or whatever on a lot with no mark up, sure. Not looking for the higher end either. I live in Texas.

We ordered on 4/7/21 and then bought a cancelled order on 6/30/21. Well into May of last year Ford was still saying that the chip shortage would NOT effect the MME rollout. We now see how that turned out!!

My 10/1 order doesn’t even have a build date and isn’t likely to any time soon. It took a couple of months but I found a canceled order in December for a GT that I bought and did pay ADM. I didn’t cancel my original order. My dad might take it! Lol

ALso WAITING IN TEXAS........delivery scheduled three times already and I'm still waiting ......9 months since ordering !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Son ordered a Tesla 6 weeks after I placed my order and has had it for 2 months.
Don't want to cancel my purchase because I honestly believe Ford is hoping I do, so they can mark it up and sell it for more $$$$$$

I started looking around at other EVs, mainly the Ioniq 5 but all but one Hyundai dealer is basically charging $5K of ADM on them with the one dealer who isn't not having any in stock(shocking). I finally sucked it up and opened up the range on AutoTrader to see if I can get one shipped for a reasonable price and all that. Luckily there was one only 5 hours away with the dealer charging $1000 for a Protection Package. This included: tint, screen protector, edge and door guards, and wheel locks. Looking around and being conservative: tint costs $400, wheel locks are $70, screen protector is $30, and door and edge guards are $20. So it was $600 in effective ADM for the car(1% markup) but for some reason this car had a $600 rebate so in effect there wasn't any ADM. It was in the spec we wanted (Premium AWD ER) with the only difference being that it was Star White instead of our ordered Grabber Blue. That made the choice really easy so we went and got it. We've still got ours on order though. Shout out to Gene Messer Ford in Lubbock and our salesman Dylan Hitchcock.

Just wait! Def wait. No option to vote for me. Technically waiting with and without one. Literally just ordered our SECOND mme and won’t even think about getting anxious and expect 7-12 months. Waited 15-ish months total for my job 1 FE from original waitlist and 9 months from order after multiple QA holds. So very worth it. Just go do something else and avoid this anxiety forum… ?

I ordered my Mach-E strictly to offset the costs of driving my truck with California gas prices (and reduce the number of miles on that truck). I am in no hurry to take delivery and have been lucky with getting a production date for my order from late November (even though I have been pushed back 4 times already).
