This SSM has been replaced by CSP 23P08. Mention that instead.

SSM 51292 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E - False Alarm Activation And/Or Warning Message In The FordPass Application

Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a false alarm activation and/or warning message in the FordPass application when the doors are locked. This may be due to the software in the door latch control module E (DCME), door latch control module F (DCMF), door latch control module G (DCMG) and/or door latch control module H (DCMH). To correct the condition, download and run the door control module software update application for each module one at a time using the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming, use causal part 58219A65 and applicable labor times in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

----End SSM----

If your car alarm goes off at night (or any time) for no apparent reason, you'll want this update done by your dealer. No it's not actually possessed by ghosts. Problematic door module updates were released in late September, and a software reversion to fix this issue was released in mid November. Apparently early build 2023 vehicles were also shipped with the problematic software. Not many vehicles will experience the alarm issue, it is very strange how it only affects certain vehicles at certain times. But updating the door modules will fix it.

Interesting. I was on a business trip a few months ago and left my MME sitting in the airport parking lot. FordPass notified me of an alarm activation. I was halfway across the country, so there was nothing I could do about it.......except worry someone had backed into the car or attempted to break into it. When I returned a few days later, nothing seemed out the ordinary. The car was fine. I wonder if this was what happened. I've only had it happen that one time.

Very glad they now recognize this as a formal problem. I had it happening and it drove me crazy.

With me it seems to fixed with power up 22-PU1212-SWS-ECGMP.
Still going to dealer on Monday for the software fix, to be sure. Could just be a coincidence that it is not happening anymore.

I have noticed that the lower my charge is the more "door alarms" I get. It could be coincidence as I have only charged it once but they seemed to go away for about a week when I did my first charge it to 90% and then slowly started ramping up again. I need to charge again in the next few days so I guess I will see if that makes a difference.

Also, my FordPass time of alarm is 6hours ahead of my actual time. The car has the right time and my phone has the right time so I don't know why it's giving me a future time when the alarm notifications come in. The FordPass notifications come in basically concurrently with the car alarm going off so I know that they are not delayed.

@njb The 6 hour offset is must likely you are looking the time stamp from the FordPass message database, and its using the UTC time zone.

My Android shows the message my local time zone in upper right corner of each message

So not a bug but a feature of Ford Software a singular time zone for consistency and just not bothering to change it based on car location.

Agree , your message caught my eye because at the time I was messing with POSIX time zone libraries which use reverse logic.

Want GMT-6, ie Chicago, type in GMT+6

Why ?

Ok, my dealer's service department just told me they can't do the update to the door modules as Ford has paused all updates and it might be 2wks to a month until they can do updates again???

So I have to live with the random alarms for now according to them.

That’s not correct. The hold only applies to BlueCruise updates, not the door modules which have nothing to do with BlueCruise. They can update them right now.

I figured it was something else, but obv they don't want to do it. They told me to call them in a month.

I love this forum! Can always find the answer to the question! My '23 is randomly alarming which never happens to my '21. I'll have to see if my dealer knows how to do the door update.
