I don't receive most of the OTA updates. I think I have received one OTA (back in Sept 2022). All other updates came only when the car was serviced at the dealer. I also don't have blue cruise. Any idea why?

Hey Ford Canada, I have 2021 Premium Mach E and while I am on latest OTA update I still don’t have Blue Cruise working on the vehicle. Is there a way to get this updated OTA as really don’t want to bring to dealership and be without the vehicle for a number of days. Last time I brought it in when they supposedly updated for the Blue Cruise they had it for a full week but alas it still didn’t work. Thanks.

Thanks for stepping up to do this.

1. I know this is probably on Android to explain, but an email explanation about the Coolwalk update that is now appearing on my Sync screen would have been helpful. For example, how to change what content is displayed. Right now, my screen is not displaying the temperature and local weather (I really don't want to be reminded of winter right now).

2. Please consider installing a "turn signal left on" reminder. It would really help some of us from looking like absent minded fools while driving.

How are owners of the Mach-E and other Ford vehicles under warranty and not capable of OTA able to update the various modules in the vehicle? When we go to the dealer, we are told they won’t update modules unless there is a problem directly related to them. In many cases these updates improve owner satisfaction, correct safety issues and add new features to the vehicle.

Hi, Mark – Ford Power-Up Software Updates (the official name for the over-the-air updates) are available for fully connected Ford vehicles equipped with the SYNC 4 system from the 2021 model year to the present. In addition to the Mustang Mach-E, this includes the F-150, the Bronco two-door and four-door, and the Edge. The 2022 model year Transit can also receive Ford Power-Up Software Updates. These updates are released on a rolling basis, and by default, Ford vehicles will start the update process as soon as a new version becomes available. Software updates for all of our SYNC systems (SYNC 4, SYNC 3, SYNC with MyFord, SYNC 1, etc.) are handled individually and given unique attention and care, so we would need more specific information to answer any questions about software updates for Ford vehicles not equipped with the SYNC 4 software.

If you’d like, could you send us a private message with your VIN and more information about the specific software updates you would like to have installed on your Ford vehicles? We would be happy to investigate this further for you.

PAAK has been working 95% of the time since I have the vehicle, Since FORDPASS's last update (4.24), the app will crash 100% of the time moments after I start the car. So far, I have been restarting the app on the fly while I am about to go into drive so I have a workaround for now. But if you could let the Fordpass team know? I believe there were others on this forum experiencing this as well.
In case it helps I have a Pixel 6 Pro.

Thanks for your comment, desallesp. Before addressing the FordPass update, we’d like to share some general troubleshooting tips for Phone As A Key (PAAK) in case they can provide any assistance. PAAK’s performance may be negatively impacted by the following situations:
  • Your phone’s operating system and Bluetooth software. We recommend iOS 13 or newer or Android OS 8 or newer, as well as Bluetooth 4.2 or newer.
  • An unstable Bluetooth connection, such as caused by interference from other devices using radio frequencies, or physical obstructions like thick or bulky smartphone cases.
  • If your phone is too close to metal objects or other electronic devices.
Regarding FordPass crashing, we appreciate you informing us about this, and we will forward this information internally. In the meantime, if this situation continues to persist, we encourage you to directly contact our FordPass team when these crashes occur—if you haven’t already—as they may be able to help quickly resolve this. Our FordGuides are available by phone at 1-855-542-7821. FordPass Guides' call hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST and Friday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST. We appreciate your patience with the app while this gets resolved.
