I have a US FLO account and RFID card. I had no problem with FLO chargers in the Montreal area. FLO has roaming privileges with Circuit Electrique and I had no problem using their chargers as well.

The only thing to be aware of is you might be steered to the Canadian FLO website when you are in Canada. If you have a US FLO account you can only log into the US website.

I have a FLO account from trying to park and charge in Cincinnati once, I'm curious if it will work internationally with my current balance is USD.

I'm very excited to go, lots of great responses here too. When will you be traveling?
Nov 12th weekend. Just a road trip with the Mrs. and kiddos. I can't wait !

Oh forgot to mention lots of old history in the region and don't piss us off. We are polite but we did kick some American ass and burn down your White House. Other than that Enjoy!
Shocked you didn’t politely ask him to learn the language first. You know, flip the ER at the ends of words to RE and add superfluous U’s after O’s to words. And don’t say ZEE, say ZED! :p

Live in Montreal, went to Niagara Falls this summer. IVY Network, Electric Circuit are what you need. In Ste-Catharine's there's an IVY Fast charger at the GM dealership. In Niagara Falls not many Fast chargers more Level 2's. Also, you'll want to check the Petro-Canada app those chargers don't show up in the Electric Circuit or IVY app. And there's the Electrify Canada. Mostly Though I used IVY and Flo (Electric Circuit). As usual though some fast chargers I used are not running at the speed advertised (150KW running at 50KW) but it's not so bad. I had very little issue driving there this summer just plan accordingly.

If you are staying in Niagara Falls there's the bus along the main road. Definitely worth paying for that and leaving your car at the big parking lot near the Dinosaur Mini-Putt/Go-Karts. If you're efficient you can do Niagara Falls in 1-2 Days. It's the surrounding areas which are more worthwhile visiting especially near Lake Ontario in Saint Catharine's there's beach, where they have a nice long dock, and a parking lot with a Level 2 charger next to the beach. Breakfast a Rosie's Cafe is a must and there are lots of ice cream places in the area.

Edit: Also, be careful near the falls they have this stupid resort type tax so don't be shocked when you pay your bill, and you have the government tax plus a resort tax. That tax is applied everywhere. The Jungle Cafe is way overpriced and avoid eating in Niagara Falls. Go eat in the surrounding areas.

Niagara Falls only has a couple options for DCFC. Flo is the largest network one. Not sure about what networks the others are but all options are limited to 50kw.

In Montreal, we are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. I see right across the street there is a bank of L2 chargers. Is it safe to park on the street overnight in this area?

Here is hotel location of the hotel:

Hi Friends!

My wife and I are heading to Buffalo from Ohio in November for the Vikings vs Bills. (Go Bills!) We've never been out of the country but decided to apply for our passports and add some time to our trip to go to Niagara Falls and view it from the Canadian side. We're going to spend the day in Canada in that area, and we are really excited for the trip.

Any Canadians or fellow US travelers out here on the forum have any advice in regards to charging while in Canada if needed? I plan to charge close to 100% before we leave Buffalo but obviously this is an additional new thing to understand on how to charge in another country. I'm assuming I need to grab some Canadian charging network apps and check plugshare.

I'll also happily take any other advice about heading into Canada at Niagra Falls, things to see, visit, etc.

Thanks All!
Not related to charging but I just read a piece in our paper today on an old power plant on the Canadian side that they've opened as a tourist spot with a tunnel that takes you to a unique view of the falls. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/niagara-falls-viewing-platform

Thanks everyone, we are heading up north now. If you see a Mach-E with "MACHEV" plates that's us!

This was an awesome suggestion! Was a really unique view, thanks!

As a native Californian, I need to ask, what is that stuff flowing over that edge? ?

...In terms of Niagara, Niagara on the Lake is a cute town to visit and there are lots of wineries between there and Hamilton to potentially visit. Enjoy.
Niagara on the Lake for restaurants {Old angel Inn-haunted pub) lots to see take the river drive from the falls, Skylon Tower - great view.
By all means, come and visit us here in Niagara-on-the lake. Considerably quieter than the summertime, when you're here in November. A totally different experience than Niagara Falls itself. Lots of great restaurants etc. My favorites here are the Old Angel Inn, the Irish Harp, and the Old Winery...

We had a great day utilizing the suggestions provided here for the Tunnel at Niagra Falls and spent the rest of the day at Niagra on the lake.

We took the river route on the way and saw a beautiful grabber blue MME on the way, if that was one of you loved the simultaneous waves as we passed each other!

We also learned that we need to dedicate some days up there for our next trip. People were great, food was tasty, and the views were fantastic.

No charging was necessary as we crossed the border with 90% and had plenty left on the way back. We will use the advice provided for our next trip. We are thinking for our next Bills game we will stay in Canada for the trip.

Really, can't say thanks enough, the suggestions may have felt simple but it helped us formulate a plan and come somewhat prepared!
