Yup noticed that. Hoping they have an ICE Mustang next to it and that’s what it’s for.

Ouch! I had to go back and look at your original damage photos. Looks painful.

Out of curiosity, how does one even go about fixing the banged up door frame? It looks like part of the unibody construction. Do the cut it out and weld in a new section? Or do the try to hammer it out?

(Asking out of curiosity.)

It definitely sucks. I’m pretty sure they have to cut out and weld from what I know. I’m pretty sure they tried to do other things but didn’t wanna crack it too much.

Definitely is. Took it to a Ford dealership that has a body shop, can’t trust third parties with an EV yet.

I live in California. From a labor perspective I would be pretty sure this would have been a "total". Just looking at what they have done so far - the insurance company in into it for $10k-$20k large.

Not surprised at all. Let me guess: Someone who was parked started to pull out without looking as you were driving by. The exact same thing happened to me (in a school parking lot) in my current ICE vehicle and the damage looked exactly like that.

I’m surprised this wasn’t a totaled anywhere. That’s a lot of labor once you get past the doors. While I wish the absolute best for this repair, and hate our throw away society, I’d be really concerned they will get this back to the way it was. Kudos to this body shop if the OP is happy with the work when finished.

I believe it’s about $10k, but it has to be 60% of the cars value to be totaled.
