Hit a nasty patch of black ice in January before going off road up a small hill and hitting a stone wall going about 15MPH. No airbags deployed, walked away OK, but my pony didn’t. :(

After the first estimate, the body shop came back with their supplemental today. All in right now of 32k! Basically an entire new front end, front suspension, including electronics (including camera washer!) and a new battery tray.

I’m hoping to have it back by April….

Wow, that's brutal, glad you made it out safely! This means the body shop has already started tearing into the car then? No chance the batteries themselves are damaged or still not sure? I'm shocked it didn't just get totaled. The frame isn't bent or anything?

Stock tires or winter tires?

wow i'm sorry to hear this. it really doesn't look like 32k of dmg!
First quote was for 12k before they disassembled. A big part is for all the sensors and electronics on the nose…and the headlights…and the front suspension was 5k alone….

I hope April doesn't turn into May or...October. Glad you are ok.

Me too! The body shop I went to is literally next to a ford dealer and had been doing all the glass recalls for them. They are ordering directly through the dealer (so I was told). Hopefully not too long.

So it is sitting on the tow truck backwards. Did they winch it from the back and mess up the battery tray? I do not see how the front end damage alone caused an issue with the battery tray.

I am sorry this happened to you. I hope you don’t have any hidden injuries. ☹🐩

If they used the rear suspension to winch it up on the flat bed, make sure the body shop checks for rear damage too. 🤔🐩

That I am not 100% on. The tow driver actually lifted the back of the car up to get underneath to hook up the lines. He hooked on points just behind the front wheels, which I recall are where the tow points are. I couldn’t even get the car into emergency tow mode after the crash.

It's hard to see that the suspension was damaged. Sorry :(

I just went back and looked at the pictures. It wasn’t hooked too far in the back, but not as far as I remember. The tow didn’t have much choice based on how the car was facing, and the 5” of mud I was sunk into.
