Somewhat related - I also find it interesting that Teslas are already using CCS converters at Supercharger stations where both are available. Saw this while in LA last week, this was with plenty of Supercharger stalls still available. I assume more kWh speed was available on the CCS circuit or something, but I’m just guessing, would love to have someone weigh in who knows better than I do.

Pick hours cost is higher than EA or EVGo

This would be great for me. Living in Central NH where the nearest supercharging station is 50 miles away. I go by a Tesla charging station 5 miles from me. About 8 stalls and they are always empty except last summer in the tourist season. Love my MME since I'm retired but fast charging in NNE is a SShow unless you own a Tesla.
Except if you have home charging, ya don't need DCFC close to you. Ya need it like 100 miles away.

I have a ridiculous 28 EA stations within 30 miles of me in the Denver area. And I have no use for a single one of them. Where I need them is scattered around on all the highways between cities, for road trips.

Instead of retrofitting, I would like to think that Tesla makes a CCS to Tesla adapter that a CCS owner can buy and use at a Super Charger.
I'd like to see them do both - they won't retrofit every supercharger

Guess either you haven't driven around much, or you're not looking, but this statement (in bold) is not true in real life experience. I have seen, often, vehicles at EA locations not plugged in. I have seen Tesla's parked at EA locations, not plugged in. Not 1, 2, but many. I watched a Tesla driver pull into EA, park, and go to the store. Never touched the charger.
I saw this happen at the EA fashion mall stations in Chicago. All stalls were being used and a Tesla model 3 grabs the last stall, completely blocking the charger, then goes into the mall to shop. What a ?-head

If you happen to see that, you can call security/approach the security desk. They apparently take charger blocked reports seriously - at least, that's what they told me. Worth a try, I guess.

It's gonna make things interesting, Nice having choices as a consumer. Dont know when the Ford dealers need to have their chargers up and many states are using a bunch of federal money in the next 24 months it could be nice.

If Tesla owners end up blocking the magic dock ccs stations for the rest of us then we should all just help these Tesla owners out by utilizing Tesla's plug an charge automatic billing. Enjoy your idle fees!
100% Agree here. If it becomes a problem, I am sure Tesla will increase idle fees. (Or I hope they do. )

Isn't that what the 'Magic Dock' is? It's just an adapter that plugs into the Tesla plug.
Yes but the SC will switch to PowerLine communication instead of CAN-bus. if you had your own Magic Dock and went to a CAN-bus based Supercharger your CCS/PowerLine EV could not speak to it.

Tesla EVs have both CCS and NACS hardware built-in since 2021 and that’s why Teslas can use EA chargers. The adapter portion is trivial.. Tesla has CCS2 chargers in Europe so I expect them to have existing hardware to support both protocols.

There are multiple parts - physical connector, communication protocol, and billing/account. The physical connector is the simplest and folks are focusing on that.

And there it is, the negative ragging on Tesla owners right off the bat before even giving something a chance to see if it works. By having that attitude you are actually perpetuating an attitude about something that may or not come to fruition as you describe.
The Tesla owners and people who rent though Uber are insufferable now that they have the CCS adapters.

Let's be honest here. Anyone who drives an EV and is reliant upon DCFC isn't going to park at a charger while not plugged in. As a Tesla driver I've found the entire community to be nothing but friendly, respectful and encouraged by ALL EV adoption. In fact, most of the chatting I've done with other Tesla drivers while charging is usually about the newer EV's coming out and the excitement over them.

If you've found a few incidents where Tesla drivers "ICE'd" for lack of a better term, an EV charger, you've found a very small minority.
Every week I see it at a sports stadium, they are there dropping off their ?. They treat the charging spots as Ev parking VS. Charging spots. Some move when I remind them, others walk off ignoring me. Not all Tesla's, about 95%, although we do have a very high number of them around here.

I don't often say nice things about EU governmental practices, but making Tesla install chargers in Europe that worked for Teslas as well as all other CCS equipped cars was a smart move on their part. I'm kindof surprised that states and municipalities here in the US didn't try to make Tesla do the same thing as a way of building out the infrastructure.

This seems like a win-win for everyone. Tesla gets government money, slaps their chargers everywhere. Current Tesla owners still have private access to the huge amount of chargers that Tesla funded themselves. Other EV owners get a reliable network and more chargers. This was handled very well imo
