Fordpass Location stopped working almost completely, amongst other maladies

FordPass is just descending into the abyss lately (he said sarcastically)

For the past week or so, it has no idea where either our Mach E or our Lightning is. It doesn't register state of charge correctly, and it sometimes thinks the car is charging when it isn't.

As far as Geo location goes, I have no idea which location service it uses, but its simply wrong most of the time.

And the way it polls the cars is just awful, and takes forever to get state from all the subsystems it polls.

I could go on about preconditioning schedules, et al, but why bother.

I love the cars, but boy, this mobile software is awful and really not improving....

I was having tons of problems with it yesterday. No charge level/GOM displayed, no remote start, unlock, lock buttons, etc. and could not change any car settings. "FordPass isn't responding. Try again later." For hours.

I have had my car for almost two years and the FP app worked very well (including PAAK and Departure Times) up until the update in December '22. Since then it varies from functional to barely working. My main issue is with Departure Times which works about 10% of the time. (ironically Ford has sent multiple notices reminding us to use it in the winter yet the only way to set it for sure is to go out to the car and enter it directly)With each new update since, I hope for the best but have been disappointed each time.

My FP does the same thing, I cannot trust it to save departure time, so I go out to the car and program it. I often wonder how soon before you're scheduled to leave does it start the pre-conditioning?

The app is screwed. Some update recently, and now every time I open it on my phone it immediately crashes. I doesn't register the car charging, I have to use my chargepoint app to keep an eye on it. Not sure what Ford did, but just wow.
