Blue on blue violence! Sorry to hear this. The labor alone had to be $10K. Hope you get your car back sooner than planned and she is all better.Thank you very much. Well it was in a parking lot… I would have to say about 10-15 mph. It was a Ranger pickup.
Thank you. All I know was it was a little over $10K for repairs, not sure about the labor. The original plan was supposed to be around last week, hoping now for next week or the week after??Blue on blue violence! Sorry to hear this. The labor alone had to be $10K. ok. Thank you. Now it makes sense. Hoping you get it back quickly with zero issues. No worries. I probably should have put this in the post at first. I was t-boned in November and the frame was dented, so they have to weld on new pieces and what not. So when they weld within 14 inches of the battery, they need to remove it, which is why the car looks like this right now.
Thank you. Sorry for the confusion.ok. Thank you. Now it makes sense. Hoping you get it back quickly with zero issues.
Agreed. The only damage in the back was a little scratched fender but other than that there’s no parts that need to be fully replaced, just the side.Really interesting photos. Thanks for sharing.
I guess one thing that is lucky about the location, is there are limited smarts to replace. I feel like a lot of the front end and rear end accidents have resulted in several smart modules that add up quickly in costs.
It's strange to say a repair like this is "mainly" labor and that almost feels like a relief vs some of the expensive parts that can add up quickly.
I don’t believe so. Michigan has the dumbest laws??Are you able to file a diminished value claim?
Didn’t even realize. I just let my dad handle everything so I don’t really get into that stuff, I don’t know why I thought it wasn’t a thing in Michigan. Only question I ask is when it’s coming back haha. Thank you though!
Ouch. My frame was damaged unfortunately which is why they have to take out the battery which is why it looks like this right now. Our first estimate was also $8K and last time I asked my dad it was a little over $10K, could be more now though. With that level of disassembly and work, I'm shocked that your repair is only $10K. My kid got t-boned in our Hyundai PHEV couple years ago. Initial estimate was $8K. Final bill was $14K ? No frame damage, no airbags deployed. Just replacing the two doors and front 1/4 panel.

How did the body shop determine there was damage to the batteries ? Was it just visual ? I find myself in a similar scenario and want 100% assurance the batteries are not damaged in any way. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.Ouch. My frame was damaged unfortunately which is why they have to take out the battery which is why it looks like this right now. So the batteries themselves were thankfully not damaged, but from talking to the shop, Ford wants them to remove it if welding within 14 inches of it. So the battery is all good, I think it’s just a safety thing so that they don’t damage it trying to weld. I hope everything goes well for you and your pony is back on the road soon. How did the body shop determine there was damage to the batteries ? Was it just visual ?
