Reuters Special Report: Tesla workers shared sensitive images recorded by customer cars
Naked men, road rage, children getting hit, interesting items in garages, funny dogs, having sex while charging—you name it was likely recorded and shared internally by Tesla employees against company policies.
Tesla recently released a video titled What Happens in Your Tesla, Stays in Your Tesla which is laughable now. I personally think they released that video knowing this report was coming. The fact remains that there is no verification that privacy practices are being enforced. Especially if using FSD Beta, your video will be shared with Tesla, including interior camera footage.
This is one area I can commend Ford, they take user data privacy much more seriously than Tesla. Some of us have signed up for advanced monitoring, but Ford has strict rules on how that data is used and by whom, and camera footage is not remotely collected to my knowledge. It is only able to be physically downloaded after a major crash, which may require a court order depending on local laws.
Teslas have always kinda spooked my out with the feeling that "Elon is watching" since we know he often Tweets critical details very shortly after any controversial Tesla accident. It would not surprise me if Elon has the ability to go in and see video from any Tesla he wants.
