Over priced just like cable tv and looks what's happening to them. People are cutting the cord in record numbers now. In the future don't think many people will have cable tv or blue cruise at that price. It will go away like the home land line. Home phone were over priced and rarely used for the price. And if you used it, it would cost even more. Most people don't use blue cruise ever day so they will not pay that much for it.

Short of something that more closely approximates Tesla’s FSD, I would not consider paying that price. Not even close.

Lane Centering with an ankle weight works just as well, for free, and without a geofence. In either case, I have to keep my eyes on the road.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Would you pay $75/month or $800/year for BlueCruise hands free highway driving? This will be option for 2023 Mach-E IMG_1268

I recently tested this for about 100 miles on a two-lane backcountry highway at about 65mph. At all times I kept my hand right next to the wheel. The weight is easy to attach as needed and provides just enough to satisfy the torque sensor.

It drifted exactly twice in about 100 miles, at two intersections with country roads where the right side lane markings fanned outward. It never crossed the center line, and even handled most intersections fine. Here is an example of what confused it a bit - I was driving Southbound, so coming from top of picture.

The MobileEye single-camera system on these cars is quite impressive. Ford asking $800/yr to swap an eye nanny for a hand nanny on geofenced divided highways… is not so impressive. Adding “automatic lane changes” that aren’t automatic is nice I guess, but still not worth that money.

The bc would worth it only when it officially becomes a level 3 system..... paying 75 per month for eyes tracking service is just absurd.

I love Blue Cruise. I use it every day. I have actually changed my driving habits to drive more on roads that are “Blue Zones” even when that is not the fastest way.

All that being said, F!#K THEM! No way I’m paying $800 a year for a system that they don’t even bother to update when a new version comes out.

It’s worth maybe $10 a month, and that would come with a provision that there are map updates at least 4 times a year and an entire system update at least once a year.

Fix the right side obsession (BC pulls car too close to the right side), and I will consider paying $10 per month. Calculator subscription was not a thing when I was in college.

I found out that this happens only when I keep hands on wheel and try to correct the course. If I don’t fight back the car adjusts by herself.

Ya, there is no way I'd pay that much. There are WAY too many quarks with Blue Cruise, the centering the driver in the lane vs car is a major one. Having motorcycles split by and the car saying "Oh hey that car in front of me is trucken now, I need to speed up!!" and almost rear ending someone being another major issue.

Hugging the right is just a no go here in CA, I have no idea why this has not been fixed yet. Even then though, at that price, I think only road warriors would be half interested. I live in San Diego, trying to use BC during a commute to work is suicidal. The spacing (set to 1) at 30mph is almost the length of a simi and just invites people to cut you off which results in the car braking out of no where. In stop and go traffic the car wants to stop 2 car lengths back and creep up rest of the way leaving you playing "who's going to rear end me roulette". For added fun the car hugs the right and you get to play motorcycle "who's going to knock my mirror off roulette" too! Driving outside of traffic BC works "decently".

Ford needs to rethink that pricing structure....

I don’t even use cruise control!
I have been driving since 1965 and I too have never even used cruise control, haha.....have driven to Florida and Texas over the years to visit family and I just drive.......so no I would never pay, in fact I probably would never use it for free......I also would never pay for games in the car, or other useless crap (useless to me)......

If its free its for me, i'm still bummed that I was charged $600 additional on my sticker for three years. I tend to enjoy driving my cars and if I wanted to enjoy effortless transport I would take the train! (I don't fly)
I have tried it two times to see how well it worked and its too unnerving for me.
