Ford did reach out to me last Friday and gave me the choice of having the $600 refunded *or* just adding the extra months onto the end of the 3-year period.

Very cool that they contacted you about that, and made those offers. That's the right way to work with customers.

A recent dealer memo indicates Ford is intending to charge $800/year or $75/month for access to BlueCruise. I posted about it in a new thread but probably should have just dropped it in here.

Right now the demo is targeted at MY23 but it's unspecified as to whether this is Ford's intention for all customers renewing in the future. If so, you did great to pay only 200/year.

I guess you'd want to be pretty sure that you're going to keep the car for at least 4 more years to voluntarily commit to that subscription at this point. But to each their own.

Correction: the price was $600 when you renewed; future sales of the subscriptions may or may not be $600 - they could be $2100 or some other price.

Me too, but since there are likely to be massive improvements in battery technology over the next few years I may not keep the Mach-E for that long.

I do too, but that has been trending lower as we neared and reached retirement. Our retention of vehicles now will be a balance of technology available, resale potential, excitement in driving, and my wife's tolerance...

1998 Explorer - 15 years, although son had it for 3 or so of those
2006 Mini van - 6 years
2010 Fusion Hybrid - 9 years
2013 F-150 - still own, 10 years so far
2018 Fusion Energi - 3 years, bought Mach-E and profit
2021 Mach-E - 1 year (because order came in, could get updated vehicle, and make a profit)
2022 Mach-E - 1 year in 12 days

While they offered the choice of refunding the $600 or extending my 3-year subscription by another 9 months ... I ultimately choice to extend ... for precisely this reason. I realized that by the end of the year, the price to get a 3-year subscription for BlueCruise may change.
